If you’re feeling stuck in painful patterns—overwhelmed by self-doubt, emotional overload, or strained relationships—I offer a way forward. Together, we will break the cycle by identifying core negative beliefs, healing the impacts of abuse and manipulation, and creating lasting change. Using EMDR, somatic therapy, and mindfulness, I’ll help you rewire the old scripts keeping you trapped—turning “I’m not enough” into “I am worthy and capable.” You’ll learn how to release stress and tension stored in your body, develop emotional resilience, and step into a more grounded, confident version of yourself. This process isn’t just about healing wounds; it’s about reclaiming your power, rewriting your story, and living with clarity and connection. You won’t walk this path alone. Through our work, you’ll experience deep support, a space where you are truly seen and heard, and the tools to navigate life with greater ease. You’ll gain not just relief from emotional pain, but the freedom to live a life that aligns with who you truly are—unapologetically and with confidence. Transformation is possible. The weight of the past doesn’t have to define you. Let’s take this journey together.

It's an opportunity to discover great qualities about yourself in the hopes that you can become more empowered and confident about your abilities than you did before. I strive to assist individuals that struggle with some of the most difficult challenges they face daily (i.e. depression, anxiety, history of trauma, & stress). We will be able to work collectively to identify skills and techniques that help manage some of the negative emotions that stem from burnout at school/work, relationship/friendship issues, and low self-esteem issues. At the end of the day, I like to provide you the power to dictate which way you want to go with your self-healing. My name is Maudlyn Howell-Nwaogwugwu. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I obtained my master's degree in counseling psychology in 2005 and my bachelor’s in psychology/sociology in 1996. I have worked inpatient, outpatient, and currently in private practice. I have experienced trauma in my life that has shaped the foundation of this ministry of help and the direction of my life. I am a scientist of the soul and passionate about your reservoir of truth. I am a servant called to the ministry of help. I am an experienced therapist dedicated to helping you overcome your anxiety, depression, and anger and looking at your traumatic events through new eyes. In other words, I help you develop and create new glasses. A portion of Jeremiah 8:22 says, "Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people...". I am not a physician but I consider myself a scientist of the soul. Most often on our journey home, we have experienced moral, soul, financial, spiritual, physical, biological, psychological, emotional and mental injuries to name a few. But, how do we navigate to find Shalom, aka "peace" to live the life we were created for? We often feel trapped in life's puzzle. So, take a moment and let's talk!

I am here to help you take off the mantle of other people and wear your cloak, then, you can be free to be you. A scientist with a niche for trauma, depression, mood and anxiety. I am here to walk with you, talk with you and listen to you.  I am EMDR trained.  I see EMDR as the Holy Spirit in action, cleaning and emptying the temple of all unnecessary clogs and/or blockages. In other words, the roof on a house needs a roofer to clean out the drainage allowing the water to flow freely

You are not defined by the words of others, but you are defined by your Creator. You are a Designer original. There is no one like you in all the earth. Welcome Home!

Hello Friend and WELCOME to my practice Pragmatic Solutions Therapy, PLLC! My name is Monica. I am an experienced psychotherapist with 20 plus years of experienced. I've worked in private practice and/or clinical hospital settings and now own my own thriving practice. I have passion, dedication and ethical standards I uphold with every client. My basic mantra in life is simple: Drop the baggage and take the value. Step out of the box and if you can't change the problem, then change the way you see using a different perspective. Everyone at one point or another in life may experience a host of unbearable stressors that leaves one feeling stressed or 'out of sorts'. We may even describe that feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration', with feelings such as anxious, fatigue, sadness. As if our unique threshold is completely depleted. Feeling anxious is normal. Feeling stressed is actually a sense of determination to gain back control and that tiredness is only temporary. Anxiousness is innate in all of us. What's not healthy is when stressors crosses the threshold to what feels comfortable, interrupts our daily habits/responsibilities to 'fix things'; find ourselves in solitude. I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find empowerment. My journey began as a young child whose home was a host of struggles which provided insight into what we all experience. Inspired by a helper, I became a psychotherapist, worked in a clinical setting, garnered a vast amount of knowledge which helped me to specialize in various modalities of treatment. As a psychotherapist, I hold a high standard for myself and clients, which includes helping those dealing w/depression, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, chronic health and other issues. Together, we'll identify what's not working, find solutions you can innately use, form goals without rescripting your life.

You may be reading my profile because you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or disconnected — from others, from your goals, or even from yourself. Maybe you’re juggling the weight of trauma, people-pleasing, identity shifts, or relationship challenges while still trying to show up for everyone else. You might find yourself avoiding tasks, second-guessing your worth, or putting your own care at the very bottom of the list. As a licensed marriage and family therapist with years of experience, I specialize in helping adults — especially women and neurodivergent individuals — heal from trauma, navigate anxiety, and reconnect with their voice and inner strength. I also bring my own lived experience exploring neurodivergence, which informs my deep respect for the unique ways neurodivergent people move through the world. Whether you're navigating sensory overload, task paralysis, masking, or the constant pressure to "do it right," I offer support that meets you where you are — without judgment or unrealistic expectations. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in evidence-based practices like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and somatic work. I strive to create a space where you can safely explore what you’ve been carrying, explore what truly matters to you, and take steps toward a life that feels more grounded, more aligned, and more like your own. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about honoring your full humanity and supporting your healing, one part at a time.
