LPC, 9 years of experience
Welcome to my page, and congratulations on taking this step in your mental health journey! My name is Kerri Hubacker, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 9 years of experience. I know it takes courage to seek change, and my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. My style is compassionate and collaborative, rooted in trauma-informed care, and I draw from cognitive-behavioral, existential, person-centered, and humanistic therapies. I also hold special training in EMDR and therapeutic gaming. I strive to help clients gain self-understanding, strengthen coping tools, and work toward meaningful, self-defined goals in a space where they feel free to fully express themselves.
Your first session is about building a foundation for our work together. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your current life situation, and any past experiences with mental health support. I’ll explain what you can expect in therapy, review informed consent and confidentiality, and share about my professional background. Most importantly, I’ll make sure you have the chance to ask questions and leave the session feeling comfortable and prepared for the next step.
What sets my therapeutic approach apart is the wide range of experiences I draw from. Over the years, I’ve worked in inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, community mental health, group settings, and one-on-one therapy with individuals, couples, and families. I’ve had the honor of serving clients from many backgrounds — children and teens, aging adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, indigenous tribal members, and military families. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the uniqueness of every human story. They’ve also equipped me to adapt my methods to fit each client’s specific needs, creating therapy that is flexible, compassionate, and genuinely personalized. No matter your background or struggle, my commitment is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered in your healing journey.
My ideal clients are those who long for change and healing but aren’t sure how to make it happen on their own. They often feel stuck in old patterns, weighed down by anxiety or overwhelm, and unsure of how to move forward. I find it incredibly rewarding to walk beside clients as they discover new tools, strengthen their coping skills, and begin to see real progress. Being a part of someone’s journey toward recovery, growth, and self-discovery is one of the greatest privileges of being a therapist.
CBT helps uncover the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so you can better understand yourself and create lasting change.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven method for helping trauma survivors find relief and healing. I use EMDR to gently guide clients through processing painful memories so they can feel less stuck in the past and more present in their lives today.
Psychoeducation is a key part of my approach. I believe clients heal best when they have access to clear information about what they’re experiencing — why certain feelings show up, and how the mind and body respond to stress or trauma. With this understanding, therapy becomes less confusing and more empowering.
Trauma-informed care is the foundation of my practice. My top priority is creating a psychologically safe environment where you feel respected, supported, and never judged. Healing happens best in a space where you can set the pace, know your voice matters, and feel in control of your journey.
Existential therapy is about supporting you in your search for meaning and purpose. I find great joy in helping clients explore life’s deeper questions and guiding them toward a greater understanding of their place in the universe. Together, we work to uncover what truly matters to you and how to live more authentically.
