I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience providing compassionate and effective therapy to individuals facing a variety of life challenges. I specialize in using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University and my master’s degree from Florida International University. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, or life transitions, I am here to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore your strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where we’ll begin by getting to know each other. I’ll ask you about your goals, challenges, and what brings you to therapy, so I can understand your unique situation. We’ll also discuss any background information that’s relevant to your treatment and talk about how we can work together to create a plan that suits your needs. This session is about building a strong foundation, getting comfortable, and setting the stage for the work ahead. You'll leave with a clearer sense of how we can move forward and what to expect from our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe one of my greatest strengths as a therapy provider is my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I use empathy, offering support while also challenging them to explore their thoughts and behaviors in a way that promotes growth. My experience with a variety of therapeutic approaches, allows me to tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs. I also bring a collaborative mindset, working alongside clients to empower them and help them achieve meaningful, lasting change.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with young professionals who are just starting out in their careers. Many of my clients are motivated and eager to grow but feel unsure about how to get where they want to be. They often describe feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious about their next steps, and I’m here to help them find clarity, build confidence, and move forward. Or maybe you’re already an established professional facing life transitions or navigating the curveballs life throws your way. If you’re someone who is looking to make a change and ready for the challenge, I’m here to support you through it.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive knowledge and practical expertise in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients address a wide range of mental health challenges. I employ CBT to assist individuals in identifying and reframing negative thought patterns, building healthier coping mechanisms, and fostering sustainable behavioral change. In my practice, I tailor CBT techniques to each client's unique needs, whether it’s managing anxiety, overcoming depression, or addressing maladaptive behaviors, empowering them to achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in their well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

I have honed my skills in using Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques to support clients in navigating ambivalence and fostering intrinsic motivation for change. By creating a collaborative and nonjudgmental environment, I help clients explore their values, set meaningful goals, and strengthen their commitment to personal growth. In my practice, MI is particularly effective for addressing challenges such as substance use, lifestyle changes, and self-esteem issues, guiding clients toward empowering decisions and sustainable progress.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have successfully utilized Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify strengths and develop actionable solutions to overcome challenges. This goal-oriented approach emphasizes collaboration and empowers clients to envision their preferred future, focusing on what is working rather than dwelling on problems. In my practice, I use SFBT to guide clients toward practical, immediate steps that lead to meaningful change, making it particularly effective for time-sensitive issues or when clients seek a focused, results-driven approach to therapy.

Brainspotting

I have completed training in Brainspotting, a cutting-edge therapeutic approach that helps clients access and process deep-seated emotional and physical trauma. This technique leverages the connection between the brain and body to uncover and resolve unprocessed experiences, promoting healing at a profound level. While I am building hands-on experience with Brainspotting, I integrate it thoughtfully into my practice to complement other therapeutic methods, offering clients an innovative pathway toward recovery and emotional well-being.

EMDR

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective, evidence-based therapy for addressing trauma, anxiety, and other distressing experiences. While I have not yet incorporated EMDR into my practice, I am committed to expanding its use to help clients reprocess traumatic memories and reduce their emotional impact. EMDR offers a structured, client-centered approach to healing, and I look forward to using it as a transformative tool to support my clients' recovery and resilience.
