Hey there! I’m Leslie Luttrell, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and EMDR-trained therapist. In our sessions you’ll find a relaxed, welcoming space where it’s okay to let your guard down, ugly cry, and be met with understanding, not judgment. I specialize in trauma therapy for teens and adults, helping people make sense of single-incident and complex trauma. Therapy is a place of healing and possibility where, together, we’ll uncover your strengths, build practical skills, and create a calmer, clearer life that aligns with who you’re becoming.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is relaxed and welcoming. We’ll take a few minutes for paperwork and confidentiality, then you’ll tell me what’s been going on in your own words — no need for perfect details. I’ll ask about your history, listen for strengths, explain how I work (including EMDR if it fits), and answer any questions. We’ll finish by setting a simple plan and next steps so you leave feeling heard and hopeful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a unique blend of experience to my work, with a background in Special Education, School Counseling, and behavioral health across inpatient, PHP, and IOP settings. These roles have given me a deep appreciation for the challenges we face as humans, the resilience we carry, and the stories that shape our identities. More importantly, they’ve fueled my passion for helping people grow, heal, and reconnect with their sense of self and direction. My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Education from Kansas State University, a Master's in Education from UTA, and a Master's in Counseling from LeTourneau University.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Picture your brain as a forest filled with winding paths. These paths represent the ways your thoughts, feelings, and memories travel. When life is calm, the paths are clear, and you can move easily from one idea to another. Then a storm hits, this storm is trauma. It knocks down trees, scatters branches, and leaves debris everywhere. Some of the main paths you used to rely on are now blocked. Your brain, trying to keep you moving, creates new paths around the fallen trees. These detours might help you survive in the moment, but they’re often rough, confusing, and lead to places you don’t want to go, like anxiety, self-blame, or fear. EMDR is like a team of gentle forest rangers. They don’t bulldoze the forest or erase the storm. Instead, they slowly clear the fallen trees and branches from the original paths, the ones that lead to healthy, balanced thinking. As the paths reopen, your thoughts can flow freely again, without getting stuck or lost in those stressful detours.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of counseling that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. The idea is that the way you think about a situation can affect how you feel and what you do. Sometimes, our thoughts aren’t completely accurate—they can make us feel anxious, sad, or stressed. CBT helps you learn how to spot those unhelpful thoughts, challenge them, and replace them with more realistic and positive ones. You’ll also practice new behaviors that support your goals. Think of CBT as training your brain: you gain practical tools to manage stress, improve your mood, and handle challenges more confidently.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of counseling that helps you manage big emotions and improve relationships. It’s based on the idea that two things can be true at the same time—for example, “I’m doing my best” and “I can still work on getting better.” DBT teaches practical skills in four main areas: mindfulness (staying present), emotion regulation (handling strong feelings), distress tolerance (getting through tough moments without making things worse), and interpersonal effectiveness (communicating and setting boundaries). These skills give you tools to stay calm, think clearly, and make choices that support your goals—even when life feels overwhelming.

Group Therapy

Healing and growth are not solitary journeys, they thrive in connection. Our purpose is to create a nonjudgmental space where individuals come together to heal from their past, build social and emotional skills, and set meaningful goals for their future.Through group counseling, education, and community, we empower people to understand their mental health, support one another, and realize that success is a team sport. We celebrate the power of diversity recognizing that each person brings unique experiences, perspectives, and strengths that enrich the healing process.
