New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and create meaningful, lasting change. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I work with children, adolescents, and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, self-esteem issues, and other emotional challenges. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Whether you are seeking support through a specific challenge or looking to gain greater self-awareness and personal growth, I am committed to helping you develop practical tools, build confidence, and move toward the life you want to live. My goal is not only to help clients cope with current difficulties but also to empower them to create positive, sustainable change long after therapy ends.
Starting therapy can feel both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. The first session is designed to help us get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, supportive relationship. During our first session, we will: -Discuss what brings you to therapy. You'll have the opportunity to share the concerns, challenges, or goals that led you to seek counseling. There is no pressure to tell your entire story at once—share only what feels comfortable. -Review your background. I may ask questions about your personal history, relationships, work or school life, physical health, and previous counseling experiences to better understand your unique situation. -Talk about your goals. Together, we'll identify what you hope to gain from therapy and what positive changes you'd like to see in your life. -Review important information. We'll discuss confidentiality, privacy, office policies, and answer any questions you may have about the therapy process. -Develop an initial plan. Based on what we discuss, we'll begin identifying areas of focus and explore the best therapeutic approaches to support your needs. The first session is primarily an opportunity for us to establish a foundation for our work together. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. Remember, therapy is a collaborative process. You are welcome to ask questions, share concerns, and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to begin therapy—simply showing up is an important first step.
My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I believe that every person has strengths and resilience, even during difficult times. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy, I tailor treatment to meet each client's unique needs, goals, and experiences. I am equipped to push back for clients who need that type of therapy or I can hold space for those who need to unload.
Life is all about balancing our emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. At times, obstacles, challenges or setbacks can cause one to need a safe space to be able to express themselves without bias. Have you been thinking about making a change but you're struggling with how to go about taking the first step? We can assist you with your first step in counseling. Our focus is to empower you to accomplish your goals and to help you live a more fulfilling life. We are able to create a personalized experience based on your needs. By working with various clients throughout the years, we’ve learned that there is no one way to approach each person. As we work together, it is our hope you can come to a sense of peace with your purpose for coming to see us and your goals of therapy. We thoroughly enjoy helping clients overcome challenges they are not able to work through alone and we are able to incorporate your religious and spiritual beliefs if preferred. We look forward to working with you!
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured form of therapy that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to emotional distress. CBT is based on the understanding that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that changing negative thought patterns can lead to healthier emotions and actions.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach designed to help individuals process and heal from distressing life experiences, trauma, and other emotionally overwhelming events. EMDR is based on the understanding that difficult experiences can sometimes become "stuck" in the brain, causing emotional, physical, and psychological symptoms long after the event has passed. Through EMDR therapy, clients are guided to safely process these experiences while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones. This process helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they become less emotionally overwhelming and no longer have the same negative impact on daily life.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), is a goal-oriented approach that focuses on identifying solutions rather than dwelling on problems. Instead of spending extensive time analyzing the origins of difficulties, Solution-Focused Therapy helps clients recognize their existing strengths, resources, and successes to create meaningful change in the present and future. This approach is based on the belief that individuals already possess many of the skills and abilities needed to overcome challenges. Therapy helps uncover those strengths and apply them toward achieving specific goals.
