Most people don’t need a diagnosis. They need someone to actually listen. And I’m here for it all. I’m here to help you figure it out by talking through the part you’ve been trying to carry alone. This is where you say the things you’ve never said out loud. You need to be understood. This is where you stop pretending it didn’t affect you. If you’re looking for someone who will just quietly nod as you pour out your heart and soul, I’m not the right therapist for you. I ask questions. I’m curious. I’m a therapist who helps people make sense of their inner world - especially during seasons of heartbreak, confusion, or change. My clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed or lost. Together we create a space for clarity, healing, and grounded movement toward wholeness. I aim to provide warmth, practicality, insight, and encouragement which is blended, at times, with a bit of humor. My style is interactive, thoughtful, and deeply collaborative. You can expect sessions to be supportive and also gently challenging – the kind which will help you grow, and not just endlessly vent (although you are welcome to unburden yourself as needed). I believe that in our darkest moments, we need someone to walk with us. There’s nothing more meaningful to me than helping people find the light they thought they’d lost. What happened to you is not the ending of your story. It is the doorway to something deeper. I won’t pretend to have all the answers. I wish I could wave a magic wand and solve it all! But I promise I will bring curiosity, steadiness, and care every time you show up. To learn more, please visit my website: www.careycenter.com

Welcome! I am Carolyne Cole, a marriage and family counselor. I specialize in marriage and family therapy. I also work with young adults and seniors who are bravely taking steps toward bringing positive change into their lives. My approach to therapy is pretty eclectic. I use principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will help you shut down unhelpful distortions about yourself and provide personal coping strategies that will support problem-solving in your life. Narrative Therapy will help you identify your values and skills so that you can use them to confront current and future challenges. I also offer spiritual counseling if you are seeking to explore or solidify your spiritual beliefs. I am also a Certified Grief Therapist. I began my calling in mental health following my retirement from a 35 year career in education. I am a published author and I hold a master’s degree in American Studies, and I have earned the distinguished National Board Certification in English Education. I have taught in public and private schools, community colleges, and universities in both Florida and Eastern Europe. All these experiences have widened my understanding and make it easier to relate to a variety of people and cultures. It also makes it easy for me to connect with you. I am a native Floridian, married for 44 years to a former University of South Florida professor, so I understand what it means to live life and overcome challenges in the Sunshine State. My heart is to support you wherever you are on your journey, ease your worries about the future, and give you practical tools to heal.

I have a vested curiosity in the lived experiences of my clients and a commitment to their growth and goals. Change itself is inevitable, and at times can feel insurmountable, that said together we can work to direct the trajectory of where those changes may take you. I am a born and raised Floridian - from St. Petersburg, FL - however, I spent much of my young adult life traveling and moving about (Miami, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Costa Rica, New Orleans and now back in the Tampa Bay Area). I received my Bachelors degree in Social Work, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of North Florida. In 2020, I graduated from Jacksonville University with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. During my graduate study, I completed clinical internship (1500+ hours of direct client work) with a Hospice agency as a bereavement counselor. Post-graduation, I was hired by that same agency and counseled surviving loved ones of Hospice patients through their grief journey and efforts to adjust. Surviving loss is manageable and grief therapy can help with visualizing a more hopeful future that honors your loved ones.

Hello, my name is Ann and look forward to meeting and to working with you. I moved from Pennsylvania in 2019 as I could not handle winter any more and needed to be somewhere warm! I have two Master of Arts degrees from Kutztown University - one in Counseling Psychology ( obtained in 1995) and the other in School Counseling ( obtained in 2004). I started in mental health therapy in 1995, then moved into substance abuse counseling for several years, then school counseling while I raised my son for 18 yrs, and now back to mental health/substance use counseling as that is my passion. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband doing outdoor activities - especially riding the Harley and going out on the water. I love to walk daily and enjoy knitting in my spare time. Everyone in life ( including therapists at times) need someone to talk to in order to help resolve problems, manage stress, process trauma or enhance coping skills. I believe in looking at what you want to accomplish as the goal of therapy and then working on skills to achieve that goal. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as person-centered techniques and when needed will involve the family if the client is willing and if it will enhance our work together. I believe everyone has the tools inside them to achieve their goals; it is just about unlocking them and utilizing them. I have worked extensively with trauma survivors and have utilized mindfulness exercises. I also have worked extensively with clients who have co-occurring disorders including depression/anxiety along with substance use disorder. I also have work extensively with teenagers and LGTBQ+ community.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with British Caribbean roots and from the tail end of the baby boomer generation, I have come to acknowledge the roller-coaster ride that life offers with numerous highs, lows, and constant cycles of new beginnings and endings. My career in the mental health profession began to take shape in 2012, which led me to secure a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the esteemed University of South Florida. Since 2014, my focus has been on supporting children, individuals, and families in Florida and the Caribbean. The unprecedented emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 disrupted our social lives drastically, prompting an increased need for virtual counseling. However, I managed to adapt to this change in my practice, thus registering continuous growth in the Telehealth space from then onward. My practice now serves the wider population. Learn more about me at: https:// www.mysocialwellbeing-therapy.com
