I am originally from Chicago and I have called Florida home for over 20 years. I believe that everyone is capable of greatness if they can only get the direction and chance that they need. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step". To me this means that no matter where you have started in life and whatever challenge that you are facing, you are not stuck and you can achieve things that you may not have been able to imagine. My goal is to help individuals any way that I can and I would love to be the catalyst to help you reach your full potential. My specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma, aggression, and relationships-family and couples. Finances should never be a barrier to treatment. Call today and see if an arrangement can be worked out that can meet your needs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first therapy session, it is my goal to be able to provide a safe and welcoming environment. I will explain the process of therapy such as discussing the frequency of sessions, confidentiality and your rights as a client. My primary role will be listening actively and learning from you how best I can help, learning your reasons for seeking therapy. I'll ask questions to be able to gain a deeper understanding on your concerns and background. I also will provide support to the challenging experiences that you may be prepared to share. I will also set goals with you collaboratively, and address questions and concerns. I also value autonomy and will assess your comfort level with working with me and ultimately it being your choice on wanting to move forward. Most importantly, I will offer hope and optimism knowing that there is change that is possible through therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that my biggest strength is the skill to motivate and to be able to instill hope. I have a strong conviction that where a person's journey starts is not where they are going to finish if he or she is able to be honest and put the work in to uncover skills and parts of themselves that they did not think that they had. Clients working with me will discover that obstacles that they face are not as insurmountable as they may feel and that there is hope to make a difference.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I have experience with culturally sensitive therapy due to the fact that I respect the cultural backgrounds and beliefs of my clients and I understand how these factors play a significant role in shaping their experience.
