Is this the first time you thinking about having therapy? Let's talk about what therapy is and is not. Tell me your expectations. Therapy is in part, talking about how you are feeling whether you have depression, anxiety, or feel overwhelmed by your work, family or relationships or by all three . But that is just the beginning. My name is Judith Copeland, I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I want to help you achieve the positive changes would you like to see in your life. Do you feel you cannot cope, have no self-esteem or don’t even know what will make you happy? Together we will uncover your strengths and you will learn the skills you need to better manage your emotions. I use several treatment methods including, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Integrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to tailor your care to your specific needs. We will explore what is holding you back from achieving your goals and help you heal from past traumas. You will learn how your negative beliefs influence your mood and get in the way of your happiness. Often, we forget that everything is connected. Mind, Body, and Spirit. We need to take care of ourselves physically, psychologically, and spiritually. We often don’t really understand how deeply connected they are to our well-being. I will help you learn that self-care is just as important and or even more important as everything else you do. We have within ourselves the ability to create the life we want and become the person we want to be. I would like to support you on this journey and look forward to meeting you.

*I only work with individuals, no couples, no minors (under 18)* Trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, I am available to help clients navigate trauma, anxiety, relational issues, communication skills, depression, and stress management . As a first generation Eritrean American born and raised in the Bay Area, I struggled with a sense of belonging throughout my adolescence, often straddling the line between multiple identities and insecurities surrounding the idea of not being “American enough" and not being “African enough.” Early on in college, I took a psychology class that helped me further understand the human condition and its applications in my own life. I learned transformative concepts in terms of moods, relationships, and behaviors, prompting me to further pursue the field of psychology. Since then, I have taken it upon myself to get advanced training in various therapeutic approaches, which I believe help clients get the most out of their therapy experience.

Aloha! My name is Ben. I was born and raised on O‘ahu, Hawai'i by immigrant parents in a multicultural, multigenerational household where emotions and mental health were rarely talked about. Growing up, I learned how easy it is to carry stress, pain, and difficult experiences in silence. I also learned how exhausting it can be to appear okay on the outside while struggling on the inside. I help people who feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing, self-doubt, and unhealthy relationships. Many of the people I work with are tired of putting everyone else's needs before their own, struggling to set boundaries without guilt, and feeling disconnected from who they are beneath the expectations of others. I also help people make sense of how past experiences continue to show up in their present lives, whether that's in their relationships, self-worth, body image, or ability to trust themselves. Together, we will explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and work toward creating a stronger sense of self, healthier relationships, and a life that feels more authentic and aligned with who you are. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you've spent much of your life handling things on your own. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment—a space where you can show up as your authentic self and begin the process of healing, growth, and self-discovery.

I’m warm, solution-focused, and unapologetically authentic. I’ve been told I’m pretty chill and funny too, so expect some laughs along the way. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a range of life situations and transitions. My practice includes but is not limited to individuals who may be experiencing trauma, exploring identity, or struggling with confidence and motivation, which can show up in various ways such as feelings of overwhelm, stress, sadness, anger, or other intense emotions. Whatever it may be for you, know this, I won’t lie to you and I won't co-sign on things you tell yourself that are not truths. What I am 100% going to do is gently lift up the things you aren't saying and what you’re avoiding. My intention is simple: to support you in navigating whatever is causing you pain, whatever is challenging you or whatever is presenting itself as a barrier. Why? Because, the only way out is to move through. Not above it, not around it, not under it - we have to go through it. Drawing from community defined, and evidence-based practices, I aim to empower clients to develop resilience, self-love, and meaningful strategies for personal transformation. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and tailored to your individual needs and strengths.

I am a 74-year old cisgender white woman who grew up in the midwest. I've entered the field of marriage and family therapy after many other careers. I was drawn to this work through my own personal work with therapists I loved and admired. For me, the process is the very "meat" of life. Seeking to release old stuck patterns, seeking to understand, seeking to become all that we can be! We are born to be connected to others, yet we are taught in many cultures to be fierce individuals. We are born into a gender with expectations for what that means from ourselves and others--and our physical gender may not even match our inner experience! It's no wonder that we struggle to find our way through our biographies. Before becoming a therapist I worked for 25 years as a Waldorf educator. I worked with all ages--Kindergarten through high school. This is a developmental education and an artistic one. I am always informed by our developmental tasks through life, well into our final years. I also enjoy stepping into creative, imaginative when clients are open to it, even if just to think about a problem in a new way. My imagination serves me when I am with someone. I have experienced a great deal of trauma and loss, but my experience is never the same as yours. With your help I can step into your experience through my capacity to imagine.

I am deeply committed to supporting those who serve our communities, including military personnel, first responders, and their spouses and significant others. I understand the unique challenges and pressures these individuals face, both on the job and in their personal lives, and I provide tailored support to help them overcome trauma, manage stress, and find emotional resilience. As the spouse of a firefighter and having been raised in a military family, I have a unique understanding of the emotional, physical, and psychological toll that post-traumatic stress injury (PTSI), physical injuries, cumulative trauma, and Emergency Responder Exhaustion Syndrome can have on both first responders and their families. These challenges often extend beyond the individual, affecting relationships, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. Throughout my career, I have worked in nonprofit community mental health settings in a variety of leadership and clinical roles, including Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor, while maintaining a private practice since 2010. Since 2019, I have focused primarily on private practice and genuinely enjoy the opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships and support clients through their healing and growth. My approach is compassionate, direct, intuitive, and empowering. I believe people are resilient and capable of change when provided with the right support, tools, and insight. Together, we work to understand how past experiences continue to affect present-day thoughts, emotions, relationships, and decision-making, while developing practical strategies to improve self-worth, restore functioning, and achieve personal, educational, career, and relationship goals. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. Drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches, I tailor treatment to each client's unique needs, strengths, cultural background, and life experiences. My goal is to help clients move beyond survival, reclaim their sense of self, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

My journey to becoming a therapist started 29 years ago on a personal recovery journey, recovering from personal trauma and addiction in the entire system growing up including family, and coming from a low SES background, therapy became a way to reconcile the change I was going through in my life. Working with and helping others has always been a calling of mine, and becoming a therapist was a natural extension of that ongoing work on both myself and in my work with others. Beginning with a humanistic approach means meeting the client where they are at, and then conceptualizing the approach with a combination of humanistic and positive psychology, systems theory, and recovery-oriented systems of care.

From a young age, I’ve been drawn to people—their stories, their emotions, and the quiet places where they carry their pain. After experiencing my own seasons of grief and change, I realized how powerful it can be to have someone walk beside you through it. Becoming a therapist felt less like a decision and more like a calling to offer the support I once needed myself. Today, I’m honored to hold space for others as they navigate loss, healing, and the search for themselves again.

Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, proudly based in Oakland, California. I have supported folks over the last decade and was called to social work while employed at an art studio for adults with various health needs. In 2017, I received my Master's in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. I have been practicing as a social worker for 9 years. I support folks 18+ in navigating trauma and self worth. As a Lebanese-American therapist, I aim to work with folks who are seeking the opportunity to re-examine their cultural storyline and get creative in unpacking their identity. Together, let’s challenge societal expectations and strive to center your authentic self. A little about me, personally: I identify as an artist and child of the earth, as diaspora has scattered my ancestors across the Arab world, Africa, Europe, and North America. I am fascinated by intersectionality and the powerful ways that resilience shapes our multi-hyphenate individuality. It is important that I take care of myself so that I can be a pillar of support to my clients. The way that I release painful feelings is by channeling them into creative projects. I also work hard to stay connected to my body and my surroundings. Whether it’s through writing, building clay sculptures, beading, or making collages, self-expression is a healing practice. I encourage everyone to play a little bit!
