Hi my name is Cristela Rodriguez and I'm a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California, with 6 years of clinical experience. I have treated children, adolescents in crisis, adults and families in various settings, such as: in-home, school-based (k-12), telehealth and clinics. My therapeutic experiences are working with individuals to resolve symptoms including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, life transitions, behavioral issues, postpartum, interpersonal relationships,self-esteem, trauma, and family conflicts. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a deep respect for your unique experiences and perspectives. I consider myself an empathic, non judgemental and warm Therapist.
Throughout our therapeutic journey, I will draw from a variety of approaches and techniques, tailoring our sessions to address your specific needs and goals. Whether we explore cognitive-behavioral therapy to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, delve into psychodynamic therapy to uncover unconscious influences, or practice mindfulness techniques to enhance self-awareness and self-care, our sessions will be shaped by what works best for you.
Having worked with children, adolescents and adults for the past 6 years, I feel like I can create a safe and supportive environment. I like to meet client's where they are at. I know therapy can be an intimidating and vulnerable process and my goal is make clients feel heard and safe to begin the process.
My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental, and confidential environment where you feel comfortable sharing your deepest thoughts and emotions. I will listen actively, seeking to understand your unique story and experiences, and offer guidance, insights, and practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges. I also like working with clients who are coming to therapy for the first time. I like to take things at your own pace and create a safe and supportive environment.
I have been using attachment based theory in my work with clients in a variety of ways. Our interactions with caregivers significantly influence our ability to form healthy relationships later in life.
I consider myself a person centered Clinician. I'm empathetic, non directive and have a non judgmental approach .
Working with clients I like to bring awareness in how power dynamics, gender, and social context affect mental health. My goal is to empower clients using this approach.
I like to use psychodynamic techniques to explore how a person's past influences their present behavior. I like exploring clients childhood and making connections to the present.
I like using Psychoeducation as a way to bring more knowledge to clients regarding their mental health. I believe the more we know about out diagnosis and treatment options the better we can understand mental health.
