Saundre has over 13 years of professional counseling experience working in shelters, schools, and mental health clinics. She received a master’s degree in social work from Howard University with a focus on Black mental health and community healing. Growing up in East Oakland, in a single-parent household quickly taught Saundre about the importance of her own mental health care. Personally experiencing the effects of misogyny, classism and racism pushed her to create safe and humanizing spaces for Black Women to begin their healing journey. During the pandemic she courageously opened her private practice Queens N' Therapy®, which is specifically tailored to meet the mental health needs of Black Women.
We offer support by exploring deeper dynamics and patterns that surface in connection with yourself and others. In therapy, we will discuss your lived experiences and the impact they have had on your life. We provide various tools and strategies that help Black Women curate their best life. Our specialties include anxiety, depression and trauma. We are ready to offer a few jewels to adorn your beautiful crown.
Therapy is a place for you to explore your thoughts, emotions and memories. Many people start therapy to help them heal from past traumas, improve their mood, and/or learn how to take care of their emotional health. Using a combination of self-care techniques, psycho-education and your inner healer we will begin to create a wellness plan fit for a Queen.
Our approach is influenced by Black Feminist Therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. We understand that race and gender create different stressors for Black Women. We specialize in making therapy sessions conversational and down to earth. Our goal is to help Black Women curate and sustain a life they love.
I use CBT to help my client manage their thoughts and mood.
