Hello and welcome! I'm Jasmyne Sprinkle, and I'm glad you've taken the first step towards improving your mental well-being. Starting therapy can be an empowering, confusing, or even scary experience, and I'm here to support you through it all. As a psychotherapist specializing in grief, loss and related trauma, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can explore and address these challenging experiences. I work with adolescents, adults, and families, helping them navigate the complexities of these issues with compassion and understanding. In our sessions, I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gestalt Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). These approaches help you develop effective coping strategies, build resilience, and work towards meaningful personal growth. Together, we'll focus on enhancing assertive communication and setting healthy boundaries, both with yourself and others, to improve your quality of life. Counseling can be a powerful tool for personal development and healing, guiding you towards the life you deeply deserve. If you're ready to share and embark on this journey, I'm here to help you every step of the way.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the initial consultation session, we will spend time getting to know each other, and to find out how to proceed. Future sessions will be more therapeutic in nature. During the first session, I will ask you about what brings you to therapy, and what symptoms you are experiencing, current and/ or past medications and treatment, your history that may include your childhood, education, relationships, and your present living situation and your career you may discuss what you expect to happen in the end you will have time to ask many questions you have regarding your treatment, your rights, confidentiality, and your responsibilities.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals in various life stages, particularly in the areas of grief, depression, trauma, and PTSD. My therapeutic playbook is focused on two key aspects: Identifying the Root Cause: I work closely with my clients to uncover the underlying issues contributing to their distress. Whether it's unresolved grief, depressive symptoms, traumatic experiences, or other challenges, understanding the root cause is essential for meaningful progress. Creating a Tailored Plan: Utilizing a blend of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gestalt Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I design individualized treatment plans. These plans are tailored to each client's specific needs and goals, ensuring a personalized approach that leads to measurable and lasting change. Together, we'll work on developing effective coping strategies, building resilience, and fostering personal growth, enabling you to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and clarity. If you're ready to take the next step towards a better quality of life, I'm here to guide and support you on this journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. I use CBT to help clients recognize and reframe irrational or harmful thoughts and engage in activities that reduce negative emotions and increase positive experiences. I also use CBT to teach coping skills, problem-solving techniques, and strategies for managing stress and anxiety.

Gestalt

Gestalt Therapy is effective for addressing a wide range of psychological issues, including relationship problems, self-esteem issues, and emotional distress. I use this modality to guide clients through role-playing and facilitating a conversation between different parts of the client’s self. This modality is highly effective for processing difficult emotions of grief due to death.

EMDR

EMDR is effective for treating trauma, PTSD, and other anxiety disorders. It aims to process and integrate traumatic experiences, allowing clients to develop healthier responses to triggers. I use this to help clients reframe negative beliefs associated with the trauma and reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy that emphasizes solutions rather than problems. SFBT is used for a wide range of issues, including stress, relationship problems, and work-related challenges. It focuses on clients' strengths and resources to find practical solutions. I use SFBT to help my clients identify specific, attainable goals they want to achieve to work through.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a mindfulness-based approach used for a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and chronic pain. It emphasizes living a values-driven life and building psychological flexibility to handle life's challenges. I use ACT to help my clients stay present, embrace their feelings, reduce the impact of their feelings, identify personal values, and take actions aligned with their values.
