About me

I love listening to people and allowing the client to feel in control of their treatment. I look forward to offering up to date strategies and techniques to navigate through life challenges knowing that the client has full autonomy over the process. I am a fully licensed therapist specializing in stages of change. I have worked in addictions for over 20 years. I started working in Early HeadStart, all the way to the Criminal Justice system, meeting the therapeutic needs of a variety of clients. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a hairstylist for 20 years.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The Client will not be disappointed and will not waste their precious time. Client can expect to be heard! Client can be expected to be able to get an understanding if the modality is a good fit or not. Client will also receive strategies and techniques to reduce symptoms to guide them through their therapeutic journey prior to commitment to continue.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I continue to educate myself on the modalities, techniques, and strategies to assist client with utilizing skills to meet their objectives towards their treatment plan goals. As a provider I take the holistic approach by reflective listening to the client and what they desire for their life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best able to assist clients with reflecting and navigating to the stages of change. If client is practicing techniques and strategies between sessions, there will usually be a positive reduction of symptoms causing unwanted consequences in client's life. I am best positioned to serve clients that are self-aware that something is a barrier to reaching the life they want to have. I am able to help clients that are open taking charge of their recovery with the assistance of the therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing this method of treatment as well as Trauma Focused CBT in at least 4 creative techniques to unearth client’s automatic thoughts, even if they’re struggling to identify the thoughts themselves. Making CBT most effective and efficient to accommodate clients time and needs. The hidden root of client’s anger, and less than 6 simple steps to help them cope effectively. Utilizing an impactful reframing to support client with life's challenges.

Motivational Interviewing

This is an effective modality of treatment to foster support for the stages of change. This method is effective because it recognizes the differences between knowing to do better and knowing how to better and providing grace between.

Couples Counseling

The Role of the Therapist Stay neutral and supportive of both partners Guide the conversation in a safe and productive way Help each partner feel heard and validated Teach tools to manage conflict and increase emotional connection Therapists don’t “fix” the relationship for you — they help you both learn how to repair and grow it together. Couples who engage in therapy often report: Better communication and understanding More emotional closeness and intimacy Healthier ways to navigate conflict A stronger sense of teamwork and partnership Greater self-awareness and compassion for one another Sometimes, counseling also helps partners decide whether to stay together or separate respectfully — always with clarity and care.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Clients often describe TF-CBT as both challenging and freeing—it asks them to face difficult memories, but in a structured, supportive environment that emphasizes safety, choice, and healing at every step. Over time, they learn to view the trauma as something that happened to them, not something that defines them. When we experience trauma, our brains and bodies sometimes stay “stuck” in survival mode—feeling unsafe, anxious, or guilty even when the danger is gone. TF-CBT helps you: Understand why you feel and react the way you do Learn healthy coping skills to calm your body and mind Talk about and process the trauma safely and at your own pace Replace guilt, shame, or fear with self-understanding and confidence Reconnect with a sense of safety, control, and hope
