New to Grow
I am Betty George, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia, with over 13 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked with individuals, families, and communities navigating life transitions, trauma, grief, and complex emotional challenges. I strive daily to meet clients where they are with empathy, respect, and cultural humility to help them reach their goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is a time to get to know each other and create a safe, supportive space. We’ll review confidentiality, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore your goals. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—you control the pace. Together, we’ll begin identifying next steps and tools to support your growth.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am committed to creating a safe, affirming space where clients feel heard, supported, and equipped to move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose. I have worked with individuals, families, and communities navigating life transitions, trauma, grief, and complex emotional challenges.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My mission is to provide every individual who crosses my path with practical tools and insight to develop, improve, or define their own personal guide for change. I believe meaningful healing begins with awareness—both personal and societal. By acknowledging the impact of social change, lived experiences, and environmental factors.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused interventions, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. My therapeutic style is collaborative, supportive, and empowering, with an emphasis on building emotional resilience, healthy coping skills, and sustainable personal growth.
Motivational Interviewing
I work with young adults and parents, offering support around identity development, emotional regulation, parenting stress, and major life transitions. My areas of focus include trauma, grief and loss, substance use education, and clinical assessments, helping clients better understand patterns that impact their thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.
