I am an LPC and I am the founder of Illuminate Mental Health, LLC. I created this practice with the hopes that I can help someone during their dark times and encourage them to pass the light to others. This world can be dark, but if each person can lift their light, then the world will be a brighter place. By using the knowledge, experience, and techniques I have learned throughout my career, I will help guide you to find your light again. As an LPC, I have over 9 years of experience in the mental health field in several different types of mental health settings. From community mental health, crisis, inpatient psychiatric therapy, to prison-based mental health treatment, I have gained a diverse set of skills and knowledge that are utilized in my sessions.
Our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another. The first session will always be me completing a Biopsychosocial Assessment that will allow me to understand your history, symptoms, and social dynamics that could be influencing your current presenting problem. This will also help me come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan that will be satisfactory to the insurance company. After the first session, that is when we start to do the deep dive into your story. In my sessions, I use several different evidence-based therapeutic frameworks and modalities. However, I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, Person-Centered, and Strength-based approaches. By using these different approaches, not only do I help you process and understand your personal struggles, but also facilitate healing & restoration based on your individual needs throughout your recovery journey.
I am a processing therapist. Not only will I teach you skills on how to cope with your stress, but I will also explore with you the underlying reasons behind your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By hearing your story, I can pick up certain patterns, that are possibly caused from traumas, that has you stuck in a mindset that is toxic to you. By uncovering these patterns, we can start to heal from them. I am a very easy-going therapist that is easy to talk to, but will also provide you some guidance and some education about your specific issues.
I see clients from ages 15 - 65 years old, for either individual, couples/marriage, and family therapy. I am an expert in suicide prevention, self-harm, personality disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse, preventing recidivism, and coping with re-entering the community once released from jail/prison. However, I also treat anxiety, depression, PTSD & trauma, ADD/ADHD, psychosis, anger management, stress, relationship issues, sex therapy, family conflict, and much more.

I wish I could click more of the tabs to describe Courtney Davis, she's very knowledgeable and she's great at handling me even when i'm at the edge of i'm not sure if I can handle me. She's helping me understand more about me and how I can work on that so that i'm not so stressed and anxious all the time. She is one of the best therapists I have had!!!!
