Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Virginia. I help adults of all ages who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, depressed or stressed out who want to feel better and take back their life. My approach is welcoming, empathetic, flexible, and culturally-responsive. I strongly believe in the mind-body-spirit connection for wellness, which means I support whole person.
In our first session, we’ll start with brief introductions, and I will work hard to create a warm, emotionally safe space where you will feel seen, felt, heard and understood. We will work together to create an individualized plan for you to explore and work through during and in-between sessions.
I have earned a Specialization Certificate in Social Work and Trauma Practice and am trained in multiple evidence based practices such as CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, and others. I also have certificates in Horticultural Therapy and Pastoral Care.
The individuals I work with have noticed that what’s happening to them on the inside is affecting their mood and function on the outside. Their story may include experiences of trauma, loss, overwork, mistreatment, dysfunction, illness, pain, spiritual struggles, or similar experiences, and they want the needs of their mind, body, and spirit to be met. They are ready to “get to work” and are open to being helped to navigate the overwhelm getting in the way of making healing changes in their lives.
