Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and I am passionate about working with people, helping them find peace, healing, and resolution. I do not use a predetermined approach, but rather, I tailor the therapeutic experience to meet each individual's needs and treatment goals. Our goals will be centered around helping you establish coping skills in order to build your confidence to overcome life's challenges. I want to help you overcome your internal battles you thought were impossible.
The first session with me will involve discussion of your history and current daily struggles. We will also make plans for how your future can be brighter.
My approach is to meet you where you are without judgement. I aim to offer genuine understanding and support. It's important to me that you feel heard and understood. As your psychologist, I aim to empower you by helping you build confidence, self agency, and find peace. I enjoy finding humor and laughing when appropriate. I encourage and welcome your feedback - I want to make sure we are on the same page, that you are growing, and you are meeting your goals.
I specialize in working with adults who struggle with symptoms of ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Managing these symptoms can be very overwhelming and frustrating, making one feel like there is no way out. Often, these symptoms negatively impact relationships, career performance, and daily functioning. We will work together to set goals that help you build healthy coping skills and reduce problematic behaviors.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a treatment method used to help gain control over negative thoughts and cognitive distortions that seemingly occur automatically. CBT helps to identify negative thought patterns and replace them more positive thoughts and desirable behaviors.
Mindfulness is used to help increase self awareness, emotional regulation, and our ability to live presently.
Supportive therapy focuses on managing present-day problems and enhancing existing strengths. It is goal-oriented, empathetic, and patient-centered approach designed to reduce immediate distress, strengthen coping skills, and maintain or improve self-esteem and daily functioning.
Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented, short-term approach that focuses on identifying a client's strengths and resources to find solutions to their problems, rather than dwelling on the problems themselves.

In addition to helping me reflect on my thoughts and feelings, Dr. Owen has encouraged me throughout the process to recognize those times when I have experienced success, or reacted in a way that was healthy and appropriate! I always feel stronger and more capable of dealing with my anxiety after each session. I leave each session feeling more at peace, as well as energized, to meet daily challenges.
