*Please note that the Grow Therapy calendar is not flexible and as a result does not reflect my full availability - if you schedule with me I will contact you as soon as possible to work out a consultation time (a free, 15-20 minute conversation to see if we seem like a good fit for therapy)* I work from a Feminist Therapy perspective, in a way that seeks to minimize the power imbalance inherent in clinical settings, centers the client’s story in our work, recognizes that the client is the expert on their own life, and helps the client identify their own sources of power. I use a mix of Acceptance & Commitment, Narrative and Existential therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an introduction, we'll talk about what the client is hoping to get from therapy, I'll explain my approach to the work, and we'll begin an intake process - collecting information about the client's history, for the purpose of helping me understand how the client became the person they are today (not to "fix" childhood issues).

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Experiential Therapy

I engage with clients using Existential Therapy to help identify their meaning(s) in life and explore fundamental anxieties (Death, Meaninglessness, Freedom, Isolation).

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients identity "tools" and techniques to overcome obstacles (Defusion) and identify Committed Actions towards a meaningful, fulfilling life.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy helps explore and understand the stories and narratives that clients have that may be obstacles to them to help work past them.
