New to Grow
My goal is to make therapy feel welcoming and supportive, so it’s less intimidating than people often expect. I help people manage anxiety and build back their self-confidence. Together, we’ll figure out what helps you handle stress and feel more in control. By working together, you’ll better understand yourself, decide what changes you want, and make a plan to reach your goals. It’s normal to feel unsure or nervous about starting therapy and sharing personal things. In my practice, we go at a comfortable pace and always respect your boundaries.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first therapy session, we will start by getting to know each other. I will ask about your background, including your history, challenges, and goals, to see how well we work together. You will have the chance to ask me about my approach, confidentiality, and how sessions are structured. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where we can build trust. It is normal to feel nervous or emotional, and you might even cry. I want you to feel comfortable sharing your story, and I will do my best to help you feel at ease.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength as a therapist is building a strong, trusting relationship with my clients. I do this by showing real empathy, acceptance, and active listening, which helps create a safe space for healing. Skills like emotional intelligence, integrity, and flexibility are also important for being effective. This caring connection is the foundation of successful therapy and helps clients feel understood and empowered.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with people of all backgrounds who are dealing with challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, relationship problems, or significant life changes such as job loss or divorce. We will work together to build coping skills, improve communication, grow self-awareness, and support your personal growth.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
As a therapist, I utilized Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a foundational approach, teaching core skills such as Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. I provided individual therapy focused on goal setting and diary card review, and offered phone coaching to support clients during real-time crises. Throughout this process, I balanced acceptance and change, consistent with dialectical principles, to assist patients in managing intense emotions, enhancing relationships, and building a life they find meaningful.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a therapist, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by guiding patients to identify and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors. I work collaboratively with individuals to challenge these patterns, aiming to enhance emotional well-being. My approach involves structured sessions that address present concerns, incorporate skill-building exercises such as deep breathing and role-playing, and include assigning homework to reinforce coping strategies in daily life. This process ultimately empowers individuals to develop the skills necessary to manage their own mental health.
