It ignites a direct line to God’s heart, where healing is amplified, and transformation takes place. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Virginia, dedicated to helping individuals move from feeling overwhelmed or stuck toward a more grounded and intentional life. I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and identity-related concerns. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. In therapy, I draw from psychodynamic principles to help clients better understand how past experiences and relational patterns may be influencing current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. At the same time, I incorporate reality therapy to keep the work practical and present-focused—helping clients clarify what they want, what they are doing, and whether their current choices are moving them closer to or further from their goals. This balance allows us to explore deeper emotional roots while also building concrete strategies for change. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a safe, honest, and nonjudgmental space. I aim to meet clients where they are without pressure, while also gently challenging them to grow. My style is warm, direct, and grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience. I am especially interested in working with clients who are ready to take an active role in their healing process, even if they are unsure where to start. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and creating meaningful, sustainable change. My practice is designed to be accessible and supportive, whether you are seeking short-term guidance through a specific challenge or longer-term work focused on deeper emotional growth and self-understanding.

Welcome—I’m truly glad you’re here. I bring a warm, grounded, and collaborative approach to this work, shaped by graduating with honors in my Master’s program and earning my Bachelor’s in Social Work with a Minor in Human Services. With 17 years of experience supporting at‑risk youth and families across Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri—and roughly five years in a direct therapeutic role—I’ve learned that healing is most powerful when mind, body, and spirit are invited into the process. My background includes specialized training in DBT, ASIST, trauma‑responsive care, and emerging work with elders through grief support and medical assessments. My practice continues to expand as I deepen my understanding of military culture and the unique stressors faced by Service Members, Veterans, and their families. I integrate training in reintegration support, deployment‑related stress, and identity transitions to help military‑connected clients navigate life with clarity and strength. I am honored to now offer supportive therapeutic services to clients in the state of Virginia. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Somatic Therapy remains one of my first passions and is available for in‑person sessions. This body‑based approach helps clients release stored tension, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with the wisdom of their physical and emotional selves. When the body softens, the mind opens—and healing becomes more accessible, more intuitive, and more aligned. My work is guided by a simple belief: ~When people feel safe, seen, and supported, they naturally move toward wholeness.~ It’s an honor to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and step into a life that feels grounded, authentic, and spiritually aligned.

As a neurodivergent Black woman living with a chronic illness and mother of three adult children, two of whom identify with the LGBTQ+ commmunity, I am always interested in the deeper question people carry about their lives. Many of the individuals I work with are thoughtful, capable people who have spent years showing up for others, meeting expectations, and doing what seemed like the responsible thing to do. At some point, though, many begin to notice a quiet sense that something no longer fits. My work centers around helping people slow down enough to understand what is actually happening beneath that feeling. Together we look at the patterns, experiences, and internal narratives that shape how you see yourself and the choices available to you. From that place, people often begin to rediscover a clearer sense of who they are and what direction their lives might take moving forward. I am especially drawn to working with adults navigating identity shifts, relationship transitions, and moments in life where the path forward is no longer obvious.

Hello! I'm La-Retha Brown, LPC, and I'm glad you're here. Seeking therapy is a courageous first step, and my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move toward the life you want. I believe that healing begins when people feel safe enough to be honest about where they are while also discovering the strengths they already possess. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, stress, trauma, self-esteem concerns, and difficulties managing emotions. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful goals that align with your values. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and solution-focused. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. I tailor treatment to meet your unique needs because I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Whether you're navigating a difficult season, rebuilding after loss, strengthening relationships, or simply seeking personal growth, I am committed to walking alongside you throughout the process. Together, we'll work to help you shift from surviving to thriving—and empower you to shift the power back to yourself. I look forward to being part of your journey.

My work is grounded in developmental psychology, neuroscience, and trauma treatment. If years of therapy, medication, books, and coping skills haven't created the change you're looking for, it may be because you've been treating the symptoms instead of the patterns producing them. Many of my clients come to me feeling frustrated, wondering why they understand their struggles yet continue to repeat the same thoughts, emotional reactions, relationship dynamics, or behaviors. My approach focuses on identifying and disrupting the developmental patterns driving those experiences by working with the brain and nervous system where they were formed and continue to be reinforced. Rather than teaching you how to better manage the same struggles, my goal is to help you create meaningful, lasting transformation so you can move forward with greater freedom, clarity, and confidence.

Welcome! I’m Dr. Judge, a psychotherapist specializing in women’s mental health. If you’ve been carrying the emotional weight of motherhood, relationships, or simply trying to hold everything together, I want you to know you are not alone. I understand the words "I'm tired of being strong!" I offer a safe, compassionate, faith-centered space where you can finally exhale, feel understood, and begin healing. Alongside my clinical training, I bring personal understanding shaped by marriage, divorce, motherhood, and the heartbreak of miscarriage. I know life can leave you feeling exhausted, disconnected, and overwhelmed by pain no one else fully sees. I believe God meets us tenderly in those hardest moments and restores our strength. My goal is to help you feel grounded, supported, and renewed in mind, body, and spirit. I specialize in working with women who often appear capable, organized, and “on top of things” externally, while internally feeling anxious, emotionally drained, and overwhelmed. Many of the women I work with are balancing the invisible mental load of motherhood, work, and relationships while quietly struggling with burnout, identity loss, loneliness. In our work together, I help you slow down and understand what is happening beneath the surface. Many women arrive feeling constantly “on” mental overload, emotionally depleted, or unable to rest. A central focus of my work is helping you reconnect with yourself. Therapy becomes a space where you no longer have to ignore your own needs or carry everything by yourself. Together, we explore who you are now, what you need, and how to create a life that feels more peaceful, balanced, and emotionally fulfilling. Therapy with me is a supportive space where you are deeply seen, heard, and cared for. You do not have to keep struggling alone. I’m here to walk alongside you.

Helping adults heal from childhood emotional neglect, people-pleasing, and painful relationship patterns. Hi. My name is Fashen. I help women process the emotional impact of growing up in dysfunctional households. These experiences can affect self-worth, relationships, boundaries, and the ability to cope with overwhelming emotions. Many of the women I work with struggle with anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, or unhealthy relationship patterns. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered in your healing journey. When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Virginia. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Virginia from Norfolk to Roanoke! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Virginia.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
