I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who enjoys working with teens and adults. As a mental health professional, I have over 10 years of experience in the counseling field and 20 years in the mental health field. My experience includes intensive in-home counseling, working in inpatient settings, and conducting group therapy at a partial hospitalization program. My expertise is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques, and Solution Focused Therapy. My focus is on assisting clients with becoming more assertive with communication, being able to challenge negative thoughts that arise in your mindset, along with learning coping strategies to manage symptoms of anxiety. Together, we will identify your process patterns and seek to realign them with your true authentic self. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The hope is that each client will leave their session feeling heard and more empowered to face struggles and concerns that are interfering with living a fulfilling and productive life. I want clients to have tools readily available to proactively tackle challenges when they arise. Providing a caring, empathetic, and judgment free space for exploration of thoughts and feelings is my ultimate goal for each client.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in providing an empathetic listening ear where clients feel safe and heard. A variety of coping tools and strategies will be introduced as a way to diminish increased symptoms of anxiety and depression that can often paralyze steps to move forward in life. Clients will learn to recognize negative thought patterns that cloud rational thinking and impair judgment and replace those thoughts with more positive and life-affirming views (CBT). Experiencing intense fears and emotions can cause a great amount of distress. I provide ways to regulate those intense emotions (DBT) in an effort to reduce distressing symptoms.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used this treatment method for years and have concluded that it assists with learning to reframe negative thoughts and identify behaviors that are more positive and conducive to decreasing negative symptoms.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use several techniques from DBT that assists clients with identifying behaviors that may not be serving them well. I teach clients how to replace those behaviors with with positive behavioral patterns.
