Hello, I’m Krystie, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed by their thoughts, uncertain in their decision-making, or unfulfilled in their relationships, careers, or personal lives. Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of negative thinking, emotional distress, or past experiences that continue to impact their present functioning. My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. Together, we will explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and develop practical, skills-based strategies to help you manage symptoms, build resilience, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. I strive to provide a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients can address concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related experiences, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, but it is a meaningful step toward growth and healing. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions so you can reengage with life in a way that feels fulfilling and aligned with your values.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our initial session, we will focus on getting to know one another and exploring what has led you to seek therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, relevant background, and goals to develop a clear understanding of what you would like to address. I will also provide an overview of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected and how this approach can support meaningful, practical change. The session is designed to be collaborative and supportive. You will never be expected to share more than you feel comfortable with, and we will proceed at a pace that feels appropriate for you. Toward the end of the session, we will discuss potential next steps and what ongoing therapy may look like moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Being a therapist is a uniquely meaningful profession that requires humility, self-awareness, and a commitment to honoring each client’s lived experience. It calls for setting aside personal assumptions in order to meet individuals with empathy, respect, and genuine curiosity as they navigate their own journeys. Although therapy was not my original career path, it deeply aligns with my core values and lifelong mission to serve others with compassion and integrity. During my undergraduate education as a pre-medical student, as well as through personal experience, I came to recognize that caring for the mind and emotional well-being is foundational to overall health. This understanding shaped my decision to pursue a career in mental health and continues to guide my clinical work. I am deeply committed to empowering individuals to cultivate insight, resilience, and self-efficacy, and to supporting them in becoming the most authentic and fulfilled versions of themselves.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with individuals across the lifespan, including young adults, adults, and seniors, providing support for a range of emotional and relational concerns. I am particularly well-positioned to work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, self-esteem challenges, and difficulties within relationships. My approach is grounded in creating a supportive, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences, develop insight, and build practical skills to promote emotional well-being and personal growth. I am committed to meeting each client where they are and tailoring treatment to their unique needs and goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in a structured, collaborative, and evidence-based manner consistent with established CBT principles. My work is grounded in an individualized cognitive-behavioural formulation that links clients’ thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physiological responses to their current difficulties. Therapy is goal-oriented and time-limited, with clear treatment goals agreed collaboratively and reviewed regularly. use a range of CBT interventions, including cognitive restructuring, behavioural experiments, activity scheduling, exposure-based techniques where appropriate, and skills development. Interventions are selected based on the formulation and adapted to the client’s developmental stage, cultural context, and presenting problems. I emphasize collaboration, guided discovery, and psychoeducation to support clients in developing insight and practical skills they can apply independently. Progress is routinely evaluated using client feedback and outcome measures, and treatment plans are adjusted accordingly.

As usual, freaking amazing! We’re getting to the point where I’m having to dive into some traumatic experiences 😔and I feel comfortable, scared, but comfortable taking this plunge. I feel like even though it’s going to be hard, Krystie will help me dissect these things in a healthy way.🤌🏾🥹

When searching for a therapist, I was very intentional about reading bios because I knew exactly what I needed. Krystie’s immediately stood out. Within minutes of our first session, I felt a genuine connection. She truly listens, understands, and creates a judgment-free space to share openly. Our conversations feel natural and authentic. If you want to feel both seen and heard, I highly recommend booking a session with Krystie.

I’ve tried therapy a few times, and always felt a bit awkward during the first session. Krystie is quite the opposite. Warm and welcoming, honest and to the point; and left the first session with some homework and a plan. She makes me hopeful for positive outcomes.
