Hi there! I'm Krystie Do you find yourself stuck in your head; struggling to make healthy decisions? Are you struggling to find fulfillment in your relationships, career or in your personal life? Are there days when you feel like blocking out the world? If the answer is yes; I can help. As a licensed professional counselor, I am someone who strives to create healthy changes in the lives of my clients. I find that we spend a lot of our lives in our heads; focused on what has happened or what isn't happening. If you feel that you are struggling with silencing the negative thoughts, feeling alone, or being unable to move forward in your life, I can work with you to get past the mental blocks, fears, rejections, and past traumas/experiences that have you feeling stuck. My overall goal is to help you feel more in control of your emotions and thoughts resulting in you being excited about life again. Therapy can feel scary and even overwhelming, but trust me you are making the best choice for you. Within this safe and compassionate space, I hope to work with you to achieve the best version of you! Welcome to therapy!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Healing is a journey! I typically work with clients who experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. Unpacking your concerns can be challenging, but not impossible. Through consistency and openness, my clients can achieve their therapeutic goals and feel confident to make the best decisions for themselves, My ultimate hope is for you to make effective decisions and create healthy boundaries so that you feel the freedom that comes with healing.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My style is collaborative and goal-oriented as I strive to help my clients achieve greater self-awareness and overall happiness. Specifically, I primarily utilize strategies of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Strength Base Therapy. With various techniques, I focus on changing negative thoughts that lead to sadness, feeling overwhelmed, and frustration into thoughts that give clients hope and strength to make healthy and effective decisions for themselves. Working together, I am optimistic that we can make changes that allow you to live a fulfilled and happier life than you imagine.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being a therapist is a unique career choice as it takes the removal of personal perceptions and viewpoints to join clients in their journey. Therapy was my second career choice, but aligned with my overall mission in life; to help others. As a PreMed student in undergrad and through personal experience, I realized that treating someone's mind/thoughts is more important than simply treating the body. I have committed myself to empower people to become the best version of themselves.
