In a world that too often feels overwhelming and disconnected, creativity and nature are a source of consistency and reassurance. I help clients discover and develop the healthy, hopeful and resilient parts of themselves that are often the answer to “how do I deal with my anxiety, my depression, a significant loss, an important life transition, or a past trauma?"

Hello, my name is Eric Dungan and I'm a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Worker. I attended University of Louisville. I specialize in PTSD, Grief, loss, Depression, Anxiety, Marriage and Family and Anger Management. I have years of experience in the field of mental health care. I strive to help people attain their maximize potential in all aspects of their lives, using several different treatments modalities. All sessions are focused, to provide a nonjudgmental and objective environment to help the patient view their struggles with a new objective and fair perspective towards themselves and other significant people and events in their lives.
As a provider, I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to counseling, rooted in my own experiences as a wife, mother to two wonderful children, and lover of animals. I understand the challenges of balancing family life, personal growth, and the stresses that come with both. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master's degree in Social Work and currently work full-time as a school social worker, where I have the privilege of supporting students through life's challenges. My passion for helping others extends beyond the school setting, which is why I am excited to offer supportive online counseling with the goal of eventually opening an in-person practice to further serve my community.
In my free time, I enjoy watching my children play sports and spending time outdoors during the summer months. However, I also love cozying up indoors with a good book or favorite TV show. These personal interests help me relate to the balance of work, family, and self-care that many clients face. I am eager to expand my work from the school environment into the broader community, offering a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their challenges and grow towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Have you been feeling stuck and unable to see a path out of the place you currently find yourself? I am client centered and focused on meeting you where you are. My approach is authentic, mindful and centered on you. I can help you process emotions, set boundaries, and find positive ways to feel good about yourself. I hold space for you to share your concerns so you can begin the process of healing.
In my experience as a counselor, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals in various settings. I have worked with children and adults in the community, residential, hospital, and educational settings. In each environment I have witnessed the marvel of human potential firsthand. As a clinician I approach people and the work that I do from the belief that people have the innate ability to grow and heal on their own. My personal life experience and my practice have fostered this belief, recognizing that the process may require or be made more manageable with some assistance or a guide, in the form of counseling.
Through my experiences I have witnessed the benefits of the human components that aid in the healing process of psychological symptoms that create difficulty in moving toward fulfillment and full integration of the human experience in the lives of many. The therapeutic relationship, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard are components that for me represent the core of therapy. These components create an experience in which someone can safely explore themselves, their experiences, the world around them, and identify solutions to ailments and the "true self" that is often altered by the world around us.

Hey there! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I am also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). I received my Masters Degree from Chicago State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I have a combined sixteen years of experience in helping teenagers, young adults and adults navigate the challenges of life while promoting wellness and self-care. I find that it can be challenging, trying to figure out where you are presently and where you are trying to go. While navigating current life experiences, these challenges can cause frustration, with a need to seek freedom, sometimes choosing the unhealthy ways to cope. Sometimes we need a space and a support person that can help us navigate through these challenges and find healthy ways to cope. I am here to provide that support.
Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to get to know me. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience, and my counseling is built on both professional training and a strong foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. I believe lasting healing and peace come when we bring our struggles to Him and align our lives with His truth.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families through many different seasons of life. A large part of my work has been with those experiencing anxiety—helping clients uncover what triggers their fears, offering practical tools for managing anxious thoughts, and reminding them of God’s promises of peace and strength.
I also enjoy walking alongside couples and individuals who are navigating relationship challenges. Communication is often one of the hardest hurdles, and I help clients learn to listen with grace, speak with honesty, and build stronger, Christ-centered connections.
In addition, I work with youth and young adults as they face the pressures of growing up, making big decisions, and finding their way. It is such a joy to guide them toward wisdom, confidence, and faith in who God created them to be.
I deeply value working with older adults, helping them navigate transitions, loss, or the unique challenges of aging while holding onto the hope and purpose God gives in every season of life.
No matter your age or situation, my heart is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and encouraged. Together, we will seek God’s wisdom and develop practical steps to help you move forward with greater peace, purpose, and hope.

I work to provide a safe, non-judgmental, culturally safe space where you can share, we can identify what isn't working, and implement the best practice interventions that work toward your goals. Curiosity about why we do what we do is helpful when we need to create different habits. Therefore we work on cultivating a sense of curiosity so we can learn how to identify what isn't working in our life anymore.
When we are open to new possibilities, we reduce self-imposed limitations to improve our own life experiences. When we strengthen what we are already good at, we reduce the impact of our life challenges. When we integrate newly learned skills with existing skills, we tend to feel more hopeful about our future and increase our self-confidence. These changes can lead to adopting new ways of coping, learning how to view our challenges from new perspectives and using all of this to live your best life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) as well as a Certified Alcohol and other Drug counselor. In my career I have partnered with clients with chronic mental health concerns such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder, who also many times had co-occurring disorders such as substance use, but my passion is to work with adults who are attempting to overcome trauma symptoms, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, daily life stressors, relationships, and those who are trying to identify and overcome the root causes of emotional pain and overall unhappiness. I have always had great empathy for others. I learned very early in my own life that I strongly wanted to find solutions for anything I identified as “the problem”. This desire is what lead me to the field of Psychology and counseling. Through the field of counseling, I continue my passion of problem solving by helping others identify “problems” and find solutions.
My approach to therapy is one that is flexible, non-judgmental, and empathic with the understanding that therapy has to be unique to the individual . Possibilities and solutions are infinite and individualized. Understanding how we perceive the world around us as well as how our thoughts influence our lives is a key part of my approach to therapy. As I partner with clients, we work together to determine what works best for them and use those strategies to bring forth restoration of the mind, body, spirit, and overall emotional well-being.

My treatment approach is rooted in evidence-based practices that focuses on how feelings affect thoughts which leads to behavior. I studied at National Louis University, where I obtained a Master’s degree in Community Counseling. I have worked in several settings including psychiatric hospitals for adolescents, intensive outpatient programs for adolescents and adults, in-home family therapy for adoptive children, and individual therapy in a community health clinic.
