About me

As a mental health professional for over twenty-five years, I am dedicated to helping clients explore options and strategies so that they may live a healthier and happier life. I provide compassionate care and counseling to individuals in Illinois, Missouri and Florida via Telehealth. I possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work specializing in Mental Health and Addictions. I also have completed a Master of Business Administration Degree focused on Healthcare Management. I am a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, camping and traveling. I have extensive experience in Leadership and Direct Care positions within Inpatient and Outpatient Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Recovery and Rehabilitation facilities. As a result of those experiences, I witnessed and truly believe mental health and addiction recovery is possible. As we each experience our life’s journey, the good, bad, and ugly, we continue to learn and grow along the way. Many journeys will include troubled times resulting in anxiety, mood disorders, grief, loss, parenting difficulties, relationship issues, addictions and other challenges along the way. But most will also include exciting and positive times such as graduations, college, marriage, career advancements, births, relocations, new homes, new friends, and many more. Although positive, adjustment to these experiences may also result in a need for support during the transition. As a Social Worker, my approach will focus on the whole individual to identify other factors contributing to the current problem. This will include past and current relationships, health issues, work, living and social environments. My goal is to help clients find hope, joy and peace. They will achieve this by learning to view problems differently and using healthy coping skills to make changes and adjust to a new normal.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session will be an opportunity to get to know each other. I am curious about what caused you to schedule the appointment now. What are you hoping to accomplish through counseling? What are your memorable life experiences? Good and Bad. With couples, I am curious what attracted you to each other? What has changed? What can be improved? I want to hear and learn your story.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are my genuine concern and desire to help others live their best life. I am attentive, compassionate, nurturing, nonjudgemental and offer a calm space when life feels out of control. I offer techniques and strategies to manage symptoms with suggestions for community resources that may also be helpful. I provide ongoing support for relapse prevention and recovery for individuals presenting with alcohol, drug other addiction disorders. I also provide a link to a higher level of care, when appropriate, for inpatient care for mental health or addictive behaviors.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Teenagers, Adults, Couples and Seniors who are struggling with various personal issues, or addictions, that may interfere with their ability to live their best life. "To live without hope is to cease to live." — Fyodor Dostoevsky. I will stand beside you as you discover your resilience and strength to move forward on your journey to find happiness. An ideal client is the individual who is willing to commit to meeting as scheduled, engage in open and honest discussions, and to look inward to personal thoughts or behaviors that may be contributing to the current problem.
