LCSW, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community mental health centers, private practice, and nonprofit organizations. My personal and family history also affords me valuable lived experiences that inform my approach with clients and advances my ability to extend empathy to my clients. This diverse experience has allowed me to work with people from many different walks of life, each with their own unique challenges, hopes, and dreams.
During our first session we of course will go over some of the boring "housekeeping items" that you might expect during an initial therapy session. But you can also expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where we’ll start by talking about what’s going on in your life, what’s working for you, and what isn’t. My goal is to help you identify the steps you can take toward your preferred future, focusing on practical solutions while also honoring the strength already possessed.
I’m passionate about helping men build the skills, confidence, & resilience needed to create lasting change in their lives. What sets my practice apart is my ability to meet you where you are. I bring a down-to-earth, relatable approach that I hope will make you feel understood and comfortable right from the start. Many of the clients that have never been to therapy comment to me how easy my approach is to engage with and how grateful they are for the work we have done together.
The client's I serve the best are those individuals ages 15 and older, including young adults, adults, and older adults. There is a particular focus on men’s issues, often supporting male clients with concerns related to relationships, identity, and emotional well-being. Therapy can also be offered from a Christian perspective for those who prefer a faith-based approach. A wide range of mental health concerns are addressed, including anxiety, depression, and stress related to life transitions, chronic illness, or grief. Support is also available for individuals dealing with substance use or addiction-related behaviors, including sex addiction.
I believe that with the individual and relationship resources you can tap into your own strengths to move forward with our work together. My goal is to help you identify the steps to take toward your preferred future, focusing on practical solutions while also honoring your strengths.
My experience with CBT demonstrates that clients benefit from understanding how the situations in their life can impact their thoughts, their emotions, and their behaviors. This knowledge early in treament helps clients explore solutions in their lives.
