Hello, my name is Beverly Little and I am a licensed professional counselor. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief and other mental health issues. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I have eight years of experience working with adults. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore challenges and build resilience. My goal is to help you feel empowered and equipped to manage life's stressors.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, we would introduce ourselves and identify what issues you bring to therapy and determine which goals you hope to accomplish. We will build rapport and start building a therapeutic alliance. I would be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have as well. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible as we begin to work together in therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are that I possess a great deal of empathy and compassion. I am an active and reflective listener and an adaptive on my feet thinker and problem solver able to tailor behavioral health interventions to each individual. I am non-judgmental. I have worked with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and keep an open mind. I have the ability to make clients comfortable so they can openly communicate issues and concerns with me.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is effective in treating a wide range of conditions including anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, depression, panic attacks, personality disorders, PTSD, and phobias. CBT focuses on thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they interact. In practice, therapist and patient work together to reframe problematic thoughts which improves emotional well-being and reduces problematic behaviors.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy emphasizes the client's needs and preferences and values in care and support. It fosters a collaborative and holding environment that respects autonomy and promotes well-being. In practice I will place the individual at the heart of all decisions and actions related to their care. As a person you are the expert in your care.
