Do you find yourself feeling irritable or moody? Do you feel overwhelmed with daily expectations and responsibilities? These feelings can be a sign of depression and/or anxiety. I can help you through these difficult emotions. Together we can help you gain self-confidence and improve your life. Often it is difficult to know where to start. I teach strategies to help manage your symptoms. I have experience helping clients build and maintain relationships, with those struggling to find purpose or meaning in their life, with grief, and trauma. Additionally, if you are struggling with infertility, miscarriage or loss, or postpartum depression this is my niche. I have over 19 years of experience with child welfare, healthcare, maternal child health, postpartum, antepartum, neonatal, addiction medicine, and school/behavioral issues. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space with use of respect, compassion, empathy, hope, and a bit of humor.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

As a LCSW I enjoy helping others recognize their strengths to make changes that improve overall daily functioning. My role is to listen, explore past experiences that impact coping today, teach new skills, challenge unhealthy thought patterns, and guide individuals to set goals to help better manage life. I strive to help clients identify their own ability to take back control of their life. I use the first session to allow my clients to share what led them to therapy. There is often a lot of stress and anxiety associated with the first session. I have a relaxed approach to this first session. I like to build a rapport during this session, review confidentiality, fees, scheduling, and any other logistics.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize the following therapeutic approaches. -Cognitive Behavior Therapy -Dialectical Behavior therapy -Mindfulness -Client Centered -Narrative Therapy

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am most comfortable helping clients identify their own inner strengths to manage anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, pregnancy, and loss. I have significant experience helping others adjust to major life changes such as new medical diagnosis, divorce, retirement, empty nest, birth, adoption, grief, and trauma. I enjoy helping others challenge mal-adaptive thought processes, adjust expectation, and make allowances for faults, through developing understanding and compassion.
