Hello! I'll get right to the point - these are the main issues I work with: 1. OCD, PTSD, and C-PTSD. i.e. rumination, overthinking, repetitive, unwanted, or intrusive thoughts, mental compulsions, fantasy/maladaptive daydreaming, asking questions like "What if?" and hyperfocusing on the stuff that keeps you up at night. 2. CODEPENDENCY. i.e. people pleasing, inability to say no, fear of upsetting others, lack of assertiveness, chronic feelings of obligation, poor boundaries, toxic relationships. 3. PERSONALITY CONCERNS. i.e. lack of purpose/identity, low motivation, depersonalization, failing coping skills, thinking, "No one understands me," or wondering, "Is there something wrong with me?" Do any of these describe you or your situation? If so, I'd love to meet you and talk about how we can work together to overcome your struggles. Feel free to browse through my profile and if you feel so inclined, make an appointment so we can work toward restoring balance to your world again.

Feeling tense and on edge, restless, ruminating all the time, can't get out of bed, constantly worrying and feeling annoyed and irritable? While these feelings can be quite unsettling I understand just how to help you make the next move to feeling better. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Florida with over 12 years of experience working with individuals on a host of different issues from anxiety, anger, relationship issues, self esteem and many more. I have worked in a many different setting and all those experiences helped to make me the rounded clinician that I am today. Many individuals focus on their physical health while ignoring the most important aspect of their being and that is their mental health. I believe that focusing on one's mental health shows fortitude and strength and I am right here to help you walk through those difficult times. I take clients on the journey until they arrive at their destination by incorporating prayer and the Word along with therapeutic interventions. “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go, they merely determine where you start.” Nido Qubein. This quote sums up what I believe when it comes to working with my clients. Where you are right now does not define you, it is your starting point to get you moving in the right direction. The thought of therapy may sound daunting to you, but I can assure you that this could be one of the best decisions that you ever made. Investing in your mental health is priceless and it is your choice to make. Even an ounce of success is better than no success. Take that leap of faith and start living a changed life. This is my story, What’s yours? Let’s talk.

Do you feel overwhelmed these days? Are you constantly trying to strike a balance between the demands of work and parenting or co-parenting, while also managing your health, housework, and perhaps other demands? In your family, does the caretaking always fall to you? Are you experiencing depression and anxiety in reaction to either a past trauma and/or burnout from stress? I work with women who are experiencing what I like to call "multiple-role fatigue". I have experience in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma-related stress disorders common to women who face an ever-mounting load of responsibilities in a complex society, where being a mother or a caretaker often comes with diverse challenges and responsibilities. I also like to work with clients on their recovery from trauma. With this in mind, I incorporate various treatment modalities, where healing and recovery can take place through a combination of compassionate conversation, active listening, homework assignments journaling, mindfulness, self-reflection, cognitive behavior therapy, grief counseling, boundary setting and trauma-informed care. I also offer a faith-based support, where clients seeking a Christian approach are welcome. I like to form a supportive alliance with caregivers to help them navigate the demands of parenting a child or children with higher needs. I focus on parental needs, and I work with clients using evidence-based techniques to empower them to achieve balance and experience lasting well-being. For parents, I'm a big advocate of self-care, and I help my clients learn to nurture themselves in a sustainable way to avoid burnout. I also believe that parents need to feel seen and heard, and the stress of parenting cannot be overemphasized. Forming a partnership with parents, giving them a forum in which they feel consistently supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, therefore, is one of my top priorities as a therapist.

Welcome! I am Sarah and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified School Counselor in Florida. My 20 years of clinical experience have given me opportunity to work with a diverse population and in various therapeutic settings from Residential treatment, outpatient, to in-home therapy. These experiences have shaped me both personally and professionally. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Although I have had opportunities to help clients work through different needs, I have a wealth of experience particularly working with clients who have experienced trauma, those experiencing anxiety and depression, difficulty with relationships and communication, difficulty managing stress or stressful events. Additionally, I have experience working families helping build healthy, secure attachments between parents and children. I believe therapists best serve their clients by walking beside them with a strength -based and client- centered approach. Through a strong therapeutic relationship, clients are able to change the way they see themselves, heal from previous or current hurts, and change the way they interact with others. My goal is to partner and collaborate with my clients to identify what goals the client wishes to work on, identify coping strategies that work most effectively for them, and help the client better understand what has caused the current distress they are experiencing. My intention behind this approach is to support and empower clients to continuing to grow far past their final therapy session.

Hi, I'm Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social. Helping and supporting others has been a driving factor in my life; therefore, I began my career as a teacher. My education and experience in the classroom greatly influenced me; however, I saw how difficult it is to learn when one is struggling with many emotional and mental health needs. While in graduate school, I transitioned to working with families in more of a case management role. During that time, I started noticing how the adults I worked with were often struggling and had not received the help they needed. After completing graduate school, I began working in an inpatient hospital that treats mental health and chemical dependency. After several years working with patients individually and facilitating group therapy, I transitioned to managing an intensive outpatient mental health program for senior adults. In this role, I facilitated group therapy and met with patients individually at times. I greatly enjoyed getting to know my clients and cheering alongside them as they made progress. While I value group therapy, I recognize that it is not the right fit for everyone. Therefore, I have set up a private practice to meet the needs of individuals in ways I was unable to do in previous roles. I believe change is possible and that each person has strengths and life experiences that they can draw upon to help themselves move forward. My passion is helping clients utilize what they already have, learn additional tools for coping, and develop healthier ways of thinking.

Hi, I’m Shayna, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida with 13+ years of experience supporting women, children, and families. I earned my Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and have dedicated my career to helping clients find clarity, resilience, and healing. I specialize in working with women who feel overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood, careers, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” In our sessions, I provide a safe space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and work through stress, trauma, or burnout. I also work closely with children and families navigating emotional struggles, behavioral challenges, or communication breakdowns. With a trauma-informed approach, I guide parents in understanding behaviors and building strategies that restore connection and peace at home. My goal is to offer both compassion and practical tools so you and your family can experience meaningful, lasting change.

Helping Women Heal from Betrayal, Reclaim Their Identity, and Rebuild Trust in Themselves I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping women who feel like they’ve lost themselves find their way back to who they truly are. My background includes working with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, and complex relationship experiences. I specialize in supporting women who are healing from betrayal, emotional wounds, and identity struggles—especially those who appear “strong” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain within. I take a warm, down-to-earth, and compassionate approach to therapy. I believe you shouldn’t have to filter yourself or have it all together to be supported. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, process what you’ve been carrying, and begin rebuilding your sense of self with clarity and confidence. As a Christian, I understand the importance of faith in the healing journey and can incorporate spiritual reflection in a way that feels supportive and empowering—if that aligns with your values. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Counseling, and my work is rooted in evidence-based practices while also honoring the emotional, relational, and (if important to you) spiritual parts of your healing.

Becoming a healed person is possible. Are you ready for change and seeking a guide who can facilitate you out of old patterns and into the new life awaiting you on the other side? I support people to get out of their own way so you can finally get traction taking the actions to create the life you've always wanted. We all have a degree of trauma from this lifetime, including intergenerational trauma and survival patterning from our ancestors. All of this gets to be released as we gradually and gently come into living free and clear, safe in the present moment. When we clear out all the old energy from painful past learning we have clarity and become free and relaxed in the moment to make new choices. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. You don't have to do this alone any more.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Florida. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
