New to Grow
Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. I understand that you are looking for a good match for support and for working through whatever challenges you may be dealing with. I may be the person who can help you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience helping adults and teens create healthier, more fulfilling lives. Before becoming an LCSW, I spent many years practicing clinical hypnotherapy, an experience that deepened my appreciation for the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and positive change. Our deeper thoughts and memories can have an impact on how we feel and function in daily life.
In our first session, we will get to know eachother a little. I want to hear about you and what you would like to change in your life. I offer a safe space for you to talk and express yourself. I will listen, ask some questions, and we will plan from there the best way for you to feel better and accomplish your goals.
My approach to working with clients depends on you. We will work at your pace and within a framework in which you feel most comfortable. I bring an open mind, a listening ear, and years of experience working individually with clients. I rely on holistic, evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and psychotherapy. I also enjoy incorporating a creative and spiritual perspective when appropriate. Most importantly, I want you to feel better as quickly as possible. All sessions are client-centered, trauma-informed, and usually very productive.
Over the years, I have worked with women, men and teens who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body issues, weight issues, sleep problems, PTSD, trauma, and more. I believe people are often far more capable of change than they realize. My role is to provide support, insight, practical tools, and sometimes a fresh perspective while helping you build on the strengths you already possess.
I use CBT as a primary intervention as I've found that clients find success and feel greatly empowered when they are able to recognize how their thoughts affect their emotions. I also generallly assign homework which can help clients for successful and productive working towards their goals.
I am a spiritual person and have a broad spiritual past. This includes Christianity, meditation and Buddhist concepts. When a client is spiritually oriented, I find it can help progress in treatment.
Everyone has unique talents and gifts. With my clients, we build on this and increase positive self-image and confidence. Success builds on success!
In general, I have found that people like to feel like they are making progress and moving forward. SFBT is a great tool by itself or as an adjunct to other therapy interventions.
