About me

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida, with a Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University, earned in 2019. I have a deep passion for helping individuals navigate the challenges of trauma, depression, and anxiety. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and empowerment, enabling clients to rediscover their voice and confidence. My experience spans diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults from various cultural backgrounds, and I value the unique perspectives each individual brings to the therapeutic process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our initial session, I will provide a comprehensive overview of the therapy process, addressing any questions or concerns you might have. This collaborative dialogue is essential as we explore your personal history and experiences. Together, we will identify your goals and clarify what you hope to achieve through therapy, ensuring that the journey is tailored to your unique needs and aspirations. My aim is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable sharing and engaging in this important work.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Over the past four years, I have focused on building strong, trusting relationships with my clients, which I believe is the key to effective therapy. In our sessions, I create a safe and supportive space where you can heal and grow at your own pace. I often use two specific approaches: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can be very helpful for individuals dealing with mental health challenges. DBT helps you learn skills to manage intense emotions, improve your relationships, and stay present in the moment. This can be particularly useful if you find yourself struggling with feelings that seem overwhelming. CBT focuses on changing negative thought patterns that may be contributing to feelings of anxiety or depression. By learning to identify and challenge these thoughts, you can develop healthier ways of thinking and behaving, leading to a greater sense of well-being. Many clients find that these methods not only help them cope better with their challenges but also empower them to make positive changes in their lives. My goal is to support you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love assisting people in their healing journey, especially those who find themselves contemplating how to begin this process and seeking guidance along the way. My clients often express feelings like “I’m tired,” “I need help,” or “I’m at rock bottom.” These sentiments can indicate a deeper struggle, as we sometimes overlook that symptoms like increased frustration, upset stomach, fatigue, and insomnia may be signs of major depressive disorder or generalized anxiety disorder. If you resonate with these experiences, know that you don’t have to navigate this alone. I am dedicated to creating a safe, collaborative environment where you can explore your challenges and work towards meaningful personal growth and well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a goal oriented and problem focused theory that I use to assist clients who need assistance with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and or Major Depressive Disorder. In a collaborative effort CBT will be utilized to identify any negative thinking which shifts into negative behavioral responses. Once certain negative thinking is identified we will begin to utilize CBT to address the issues and learn coping skills to assist.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a theory that teaches you that life is complex in many ways and l Your thoughts and needs are valid. But DBT will assist you to shift your responses to healthier more strategic ways to manage your complex life. I utilize DBT with clients who are experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic stress Disorder, Major depressive disorder and Bipolar disorder

Faith based therapy

I also work with clients who want to integrate faith-based principles into therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe everyone should be the authors of their own life. With the person-centered theory you as the client takes more of a lead in sessions. Sometimes you just need to say the things that affect your thoughts that shift your behaviors. I will utilize compassionate listening without judgement and provide encouragement and support to facilitate self discovery.
