About me

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I graduated with my Masters degree in 2019 from Nova Southeastern University and has worked in the field since. I work with individuals who experienced trauma and suffer from depression and anxiety gain their voice and confidence back. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults from many different cultures and in different settings.

In your first session I explain details about the therapy process, answer any questions or concerns you may have, and explore your history. We will discuss goals and what you may want from therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

For the last four years I have developed skills that first builds a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. Second allow a safe place for healing and growth at my clients pace. But I’ve also learned how to appropriately introduce my clients to new techniques that will assist them in their healing journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love assisting people in their healing journey. My clients are contemplating how to start this journey and need some guidance along the way. Sometimes that Could sound like “I’m tired”, “I need help”, and or I’m at rock bottom”. We forget that sometimes increased frustration, upset stomach, tiredness, and insomnia combined could be symptoms of major depressive disorder and or Generalized anxiety disorder and you may need some additional help to change things around.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a goal oriented and problem focused theory that I use to assist clients who need assistance with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and or Major Depressive Disorder. In a collaborative effort CBT will be utilized to identify any negative thinking which shifts into negative behavioral responses. Once certain negative thinking is identified we will begin to utilize CBT to address the issues and learn coping skills to assist.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a theory that teaches you that life is complex in many ways and l Your thoughts and needs are valid. But DBT will assist you to shift your responses to healthier more strategic ways to manage your complex life. I utilize DBT with clients who are experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic stress Disorder, Major depressive disorder and Bipolar disorder

Faith based therapy

I also work with clients who want to integrate faith-based principles into therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe everyone should be the authors of their own life. With the person-centered theory you as the client takes more of a lead in sessions. Sometimes you just need to say the things that affect your thoughts that shift your behaviors. I will utilize compassionate listening without judgement and provide encouragement and support to facilitate self discovery.
