Empowering individuals and couples and obtaining skills to help them live harmonious, confident, happier lives is satisfying.

Outside the therapy room, I love spending time being active in my community and quality time with my family.
Are you a BIPOC, First Gen, or Queer adult? I help adults heal from guilt, shame, and the pressure to shrink themselves so they can feel more at peace with their sense of self. When people are challenged with changes that affect the ability to manage stressors, there comes a time for positive change and support. I am passionate about focusing on the healing process, whether it involves the challenges of exploring maladaptive behaviors or the triggers of trauma. I help my clients to find healthy coping mechanisms and self-autonomy which will lead to positive perceptions. This, in turn, creates personal identification and self-worth, thus creating healthy relationships. There is not one single approach for each individual, so I have trained in different modalities.

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I am Travis Buchanan, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LAADC). I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families create meaningful, lasting change. With extensive experience working with professionals in high-stress careers, I understand the unique pressures faced by executives, healthcare providers, entrepreneurs, and other driven individuals who often carry immense responsibility while silently managing burnout, anxiety, or disconnection at home.
I believe that people are motivated by a deep desire for belonging, significance, and purpose. My therapeutic work focuses on understanding each client’s lifestyle patterns, early experiences, and core beliefs about themselves, the world and others that shape present-day struggles. Rather than pathologizing, I emphasize encouragement, insight, and personal responsibility—helping clients move from discouragement to confidence and clarity.
As an LAADC, I have significant experience supporting individuals overcoming alcohol and substance use disorders, as well as behavioral addictions. I integrate relapse prevention, emotional regulation skills, and values-based goal setting within a compassionate, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship. As an MFT, I also have worked extensively with individuals, couples and families navigating conflict, communication breakdowns, and life transitions, as well as individuals coping with grief and loss. My approach is collaborative, practical, and insight-oriented, empowering clients to strengthen relationships, restore balance, and live with greater intention and connection. I appreciate you taking the time to learn about me and consider working together. As there are likely many therapists who can accompany you on your journey, here’s a bit about me, which may help you make a choice.
When you feel overwhelmed, lonely, self critical, or stuck in swirling thoughts and emotions, it can be hard to know how you got here or how to move forward.
I understand what this uncertainty is like. The bumpy ups and downs of becoming a student, professional, partner, and parent sometimes brought me to my knees. The experiences of getting back up taught me how to thrive on the inside, even when the surrounding world feels unpredictable. This journey toward joy, connection, and inner steadiness inspired me to become a clinical psychologist, and it fuels my optimism for your healing.
I offer virtual therapy for adults and older teens who want support navigating these moments and finding steadier ground.
With me you’ll find a blend of:
Warmth & Humility. A safe space to be yourself, slow down, and understand what’s happening
Insight & Irreverence. We’ll look at the hard stuff, and probably laugh a little, too.
Steady Shifts. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
Together, we’ll tackle your questions, quiet your worries, get comfortable with your feelings, and help you feel at home with yourself.
I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Jennifer Yates, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field and 17 years as a licensed clinician. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling, and I’ve been trained in five evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
I believe therapy works best when clients feel truly seen, respected, and met exactly where they are—without pressure or judgment. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where you can show up as your authentic self. While my work is grounded in evidence-based practices, I also take a holistic approach, recognizing the connection between mind, body, emotions, relationships, and life experiences.
I bring not only clinical expertise, but also genuine compassion, relatability, and an appropriate sense of humor into the therapy space. Healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy, and moments of lightness can be an important part of growth. My passion is to walk alongside you as a guide and support—helping you build insight, resilience, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
Scheduling & Attendance Policy
To ensure consistency of care, missed appointments or late cancellations (within 24 hours of the scheduled session) will result in a $75 fee.
Clients with Kaiser Northern California are not charged a fee; however, Kaiser policy does not allow continued scheduling after three no-shows.
I'm an LMFT based in Oregon and California. I have a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology and have been practicing as a therapist for 8 years. I help adults experiencing life changes, anxiety, and also hormonal changes. I use empathy, compassion, and respect in every session and hope to make clients feel comfortable and welcomed, and free to be themselves. Often clients do not come in for trauma specifically, but more often than not, trauma and grief come up in a client’s past or childhood, so I am trauma-informed and very experienced in treating trauma. I am flexible for using part of a session for the “here and now” immediate goals, and part of session for healing old wounds, for more deep healing.
I am a licensed therapist specializing in treating anxiety, the impacts of intense stress, depression, grief, and couples/relationship issues. I believe in teaching strategies to cope with challenges in the short term and addressing root causes in the long term to enable you to achieve your life goals. I am one of the relatively few therapists with extensive experience and advanced training in couples therapy. I work with people from all kinds of backgrounds and from all walks of life. I balance my practice between about half couples and half individual clients.
I'm a licensed therapist specializing in anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. My approach focuses on developing awareness of how our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are connected, fostering resilience, and empowering clients to work through their challenges.
I enjoy creating a non-judgmental and affirming space for adults with short-term or long-standing mental health and emotional distress. Feelings of anxiety and the need for isolation can be internal cues to request reconnection to what makes our lives meaningful. Ideally, enjoying the moment, knowing how to soothe overwhelming feelings, and engaging our sparkling personalities helps us feel alive.
My clients enjoy my approach of exploring practical strategies by using guiding questions. Exploring thoughts and emotional pain benefits from curiosity and compassion. I am also trained in EMDR, which can be supportive in reframing negative belief systems and releasing trauma.

I am a Hispanic therapist that enjoys working on empowering women and men in self-esteem and overcoming their struggles with anxiety and depression. I also like to empower clients in learning more about their mental health and add tools to their mental health tool kit. I like using a mindful and culturally sensitive approach. If you feel stuck or feel lost I am here to help lay it all out and figure it out together. If you are having difficulty making healthy choices and working on healthy boundaries we can work on a plan together so that you can begin to feel more control over your life and be your authentic self. I also enjoy helping clients work on self-esteem and self-love to help clients find their authentic selves. I am passionate about working with adolescents, young adults and Latinex/Hispanic clients. Looking forward to working together with you!
