My name is Anthony Garcia, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with adults and couples to help them navigate challenges like trauma, anxiety, grief, abandonment, and relational struggles. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where healing can begin, and I’m passionate about empowering my clients to find hope, resilience, and meaningful change in their lives.
In the first session, I focus on creating a welcoming and supportive environment. I introduce clients to the therapy process by explaining therapeutic boundaries and expectations, listening to their needs, and answering any questions they may have. Together, we begin to outline treatment goals and establish a foundation for our work moving forward.
My greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and supported. I bring compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the challenges my clients face, along with a tailored approach that integrates evidence-based practices like CBT, attachment theory, and EMDR. I also draw on personal experiences to connect authentically with clients, helping them feel understood as we work together to ignite hope and foster meaningful change.
I work best with clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, abandonment, and panic. I also deeply connect with those who are seeking to rediscover hope and resilience within themselves. My approach is compassionate and tailored to empower clients to heal, grow, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is my preferred therapeutic modality because I’ve witnessed its profound effectiveness. While it is widely known for its ability to treat trauma and PTSD, EMDR is also incredibly effective in addressing a range of other challenges, including anxiety, depression, phobias, chronic pain, grief, and performance-related issues. I use EMDR in my practice to help clients reprocess distressing memories, negative beliefs, and overwhelming emotions that may be holding them back. By targeting how these experiences are stored in the brain, EMDR helps clients move toward resolution, allowing them to reduce emotional distress, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and achieve a greater sense of clarity and self-confidence. What I appreciate most about EMDR is its ability to create significant and lasting change in a relatively short period of time compared to some other modalities. It is a structured, evidence-based approach that empowers clients to work through deeply ingrained patterns and reclaim control over their lives. For many clients, EMDR provides the key to unlocking new perspectives and achieving a sense of balance and well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a key part of my therapeutic approach because of its effectiveness in treating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, relational struggles, and self-esteem issues. CBT helps clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that influence their emotions and behaviors, providing practical tools to create meaningful change. In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to break down complex issues into manageable parts, set clear goals, and develop strategies they can apply in their daily lives.
Attachment-based therapy is a foundational aspect of my approach, as it focuses on the ways early relationships shape our emotional experiences and patterns. I use this approach to help clients explore how their attachment styles influence their current relationships, emotional regulation, and sense of self. Through a compassionate and collaborative process, we work to identify and heal patterns rooted in insecurity, abandonment, or past relational wounds. Attachment-based therapy fosters the development of secure, healthy connections—both within oneself and with others—allowing clients to build greater emotional resilience, trust, and relational satisfaction.
