Do you ever get caught off guard by a feeling that seems to come out of the blue? In some cases, you can "power through it" and not let it impact you too much, but other times it seems to get the best of you. Perhaps a little voice shows up and says "You shouldn't be feeling that way" or some version of "toughen up". While these ideas seem good in theory, they just don't take into account these feelings that are present. I help adults navigate the complexities of trauma, anxiety, addiction, and relationships through a compassionate, judgment-free approach. Using an eclectic, CBT-based framework, I support clients—especially creatives—on their journey toward healing and self-discovery. My own experiences with family trauma shape my understanding, allowing me to provide empathetic and personalized care.
During our first session, we will get to know each other and will determine if we are a good fit to work with each other. You will get a sense of my personality and approach as well as determine if it may align with what your therapeutic needs are. I will lay out what I believe the next steps will look like as well as answer any questions you have about the process.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my calm and welcoming demeanor. I have a way of making therapy very conversational and relational. Therapy can be very "clinical" and full of big words and ideas that many clients are not interested in. My goal is to translate my education and clinical expertise into a conversational tone that allows you to discover your opportunities for healing in a safe and non-judgemental space.
I am here to help those facing negative thinking, indecision, low self confidence, and worry. These things could be a byproduct of past experiences or simply a result of things seemingly never going well for you. I can relate to these very human experiences and prioritize holding a safe space for my clients to process whatever they need to in order to meet their goals in life.
I believe that the way we think is instrumental to our lived experience and life satisfaction. With my extensive training and experience, I have learned how to employ CBT strategies in a way that is approachable and simple to adopt.
