I understand life can be stressful. We all struggle at times and need someone to help us through. In my work with clients and families, I firmly believe in building on the strengths and resilience you already possess to help you get through more difficult moments. My attitude and approach to treatment is that while we all have our struggles, every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow as a person.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My goal for the first couple of sessions is to ease you into the process and develop a sense of connection and trust between us. I usually have questions about why you are reaching out for support, what your goals for our work together, your background, and get a sense of who you are as a person.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I approach counseling as an opportunity. My goal is to help you improve communication, heal past hurts, understand yourself, and work through challenging times to find happier, healthier connections. I am trained in a variety of treatment methods and tailor my approach to each clients unique needs. Some of the approaches I draw from include strengths based, person centered, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive/dialectical behavioral therapy (CBT/DBT), solution focused therapy, trauma informed.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a passion for and specialize in working with those who take care of others, such as family caregivers, healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, other therapists, etc. After many years working in nursing homes and hospice, I am uniquely capable of helping individuals and families navigate aging/end-of-life issues, and have been a Certified Dementia Practitioner. I am also experienced supporting professionals and high stress and/or leadership rules with career and professional development challenges. My ideal clients are individuals or adult family members, such as couples, siblings, parents, or entire family units. I am affirming of and trained on LGBTQ+ and polyamory issues, and whatever alternative lifestyles you may identify with. You can let your “freak flag” fly with me!

Robin is an amazing provider. She listens extremely well, but still allows me to fully feel & vent challenging emotions. She has helped direct me to healthier thinking patterns and new approaches of handing large emotions.
