I am Danielle Oehme, founder and licensed clinical professional counselor for Hope and Healing Counseling. I have over 10 years experience working in the mental health field with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and supportive. I will work to help you create a life that you look forward to living. I strive to assist you in learning effective tools to achieve your goals, as well as find meaningful change, self-understanding, and acceptance. I will work with you to help promote self-awareness, identify patterns, and initiate the process of change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions then explore the challenges that you are facing. We will gather information and identify treatment goals that you would like to achieve. I will tailor upcoming treatment sessions to address the goals that you identify. I value the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship and encourage you to ask questions and gather information. In order for you to be successful in therapy you must be able to feel connected and supported by your therapist.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am here to support you in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Together we will work to address and process unresolved issues, as well as learn healthier and more effective ways to cope. I believe that a supportive therapeutic relationship is the foundation of change. I will do all that I can to assist you on your journey of self-awareness and growth. I strive to assist you in learning effective tools to achieve your goals, find meaningful change, self-understanding, and acceptance.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience working from a cognitive behavioral model through my work as a behavioral therapist. This required me to work with clients to make behavioral plans, assist clients in implementing these plans and working with clients to problem solve any issues that arose with the plan. I also have experience using cognitive behavioral therapy strategies to work with clients dealing with anxiety and depression to help manage systems and create healthier pathways in the brain as well as develop new coping skills.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I have experience working from a person centered model as I work to address clients with unconditional positive regard and empathy. I strive to assist clients in learning effective tools to achieve their goals, as well as find meaningful change, self-understanding, and acceptance. I will work with you to help promote self-awareness, identify patterns, and initiate the process of change on your own terms.

Psychoeducation

I value in the importance of education. Psychoeducation is extremely important when in comes to mental health treatment because the more you can understand about your self the easier it will be to make changes. I believe in the importance of understanding your past and present as well as your triggers, and emotional capacity. Understanding who you are and why you do the things you do will help motivate change and personal growth.
