(She/her)
Hello! My name is Nicolette Surico. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and am a Licensed Therapist. I have been working with adults, young adults, adolescents, families, and couples for over 20+ years and in the areas of Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health as well as Mentally Ill Substance Users. Most of what I hear from those seeking Therapy has to do with struggling with, as well as, navigating through life challenges, especially during these complicated times. What you may have seemed to manage before might be creating a sense of uncertainty. That is a perfect place to begin Therapy! I think it's important to consider the whole person in Therapy. Creative approaches/techniques that can assist you with recognizing things that can assist you moving forward. Looking forward to working with you!
Our first session would be utilized to identify what it is you would like to work on and establish short and long term goals and decide on a plan of action to assist you in accomplishing your goals. First time therapy seekers are welcome and I will work towards helping you feel as comfortable as possible.
Areas of strength include being able to connect with you, recognizing what you want to work on, developing a plan with you to accomplish your goals, and helping you recognize all the amazing strengths you have.
Seniors, women, adults, young adults, substance use disorders/other addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, adult children of alcoholics, codependency.

Adlerian
My primary training and degree is in Adlerian Psychotherapy, which utilizes a variety of techniques and applications that bring awareness into the issues that might be creating stressors as well as problematic behaviors in your life. The techniques and applications that enhance the therapeutic experience might include exploring early memories and patterns. This is a goal oriented therapy, deals with primarily a Cognitive-Behavioral process of organizing behavior and thought processes that either assist you in making good decisions for yourself or identifies those thought processes that seem to hinder your progress. You will gain insight and awareness into those thoughts that may affect your feelings as well as your behavior. The goal of therapy is to allow you to identify and adjust what serves your best self.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy examines the thought processes that create the response to a particular circumstance(s), such as an anxious or depressed response to a triggering incident/event.
