Hello! I'm Christine Manuel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist. I earned my Masters Degree from the University of Chicago, and I have been in this field for over 15 years. I work with Adolescents and Adults who are struggling with stress and anxiety, the effects of trauma, attachment issues, and Parenting concerns. I have a Client centered approach that allows me to join with Individuals on their journey toward healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I hope to get an idea of the symptoms you are experiencing and what you would like to get out of therapy. I may ask quite a few questions, but I also hope to start to develop trust within the therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love working with people, and I think my genuine interest and investment in my Clients shows. I find that trust and collaboration with the therapeutic relationship allows Clients to feel comfortable to really put in the work. I also have extensive Clinical training, and I am able to build a Client centered treatment plan specifically focused on Individual needs.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I am EMDR trained through emdria. I am in the process of becoming certified. I use EMDR with clients suffering from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life events.

Attachment-based

I am a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. I work with Adults to process their current Adult Attachment style as well as processing Childhood Attachment, and how attachment may be impacting Parenting.

Strength-Based

I have a lot of experience using Strength-Based interventions with Teens and Adults, allowing Clients to focus on their individual goals in life and the strengths they already have and can build on to reach their goals.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have used Cognitive Behavioral interventions throughout my time in the field. These interventions can be particularly helpful when working to reduce the power of negative thought patterns and increasing positive more useful thought patterns. Trauma focused CBT aims to target thought patterns that are related to trauma (childhood, medical, sexual, racial, etc.)
