Hello, I am a licensed clinical social worker based in Chicago, IL. I received my master's degree from Boston University and have been practicing as a licensed clinician for three years. Throughout these three years, I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. I am passionate about the population I serve, and I am a strong advocate for destigmatizing mental health and substance use disorders.
In our first session, we will begin with brief introductions to gain insight into your past experiences, both in therapy and in your personal history. We will explore the supports that are available to you and introduce new techniques to help you better manage day-to-day stressors. This initial step will lay the foundation for our work together, ensuring that we tailor our approach to meet your specific needs and goals.
As an experienced clinician in the substance use field for three years, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to empathize and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am adept at understanding the unique challenges that each person faces and tailoring treatment to meet their specific needs.
I love working with a range of clients, but I find my most impactful work is with those experiencing mood disorders (such as anxiety and depression) and substance use disorders. I utilize a trauma-informed lens to assist clients in processing and identifying how such experiences may manifest in their lives. My approach is to tailor a comprehensive plan aimed at alleviating and addressing these challenges, promoting healing, growth, and resilience.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but also utilize other treatment modalities, such as harm reduction and Person-Centered Therapy. I strongly believe in the power of our thoughts and in helping clients identify negative thought patterns to shape their interactions with their surroundings. Additionally, I may assign take-home assignments to assist clients in incorporating alternative coping strategies into their daily lives.
