Broadly speaking, my therapeutic aproach of counseling falls into a behavioral model through which I usually work to address the problems identified. I pride myself for being a thoughtful therapist who manages to get those to talk and explore a different perspective on the identified issues. Quite simply, and through various and applicable therapeutic modalities, I recall past details and tie them together with new facts to help clients better understand themselves.
I value authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness, both for myself, my clients, and as a critical part of the therapeutic process (I also take advantage of the healing power of laughter whenever possible!). I aim to normalize and validate my clients’ experiences without judgment, and above all, provide the most basic of human needs: to feel seen and heard.
My name is Stephanie (or Stevie, either is fine) and I have been providing therapy in NJ exclusively via telehealth for about the last 5 years (prior to that, in person). I have a deep passion and respect for the power of therapy to change lives, which I have been privileged to witness in my work with clients, as well as in my personal life, both through the consistent use of therapy as part of my own self-care, as well as having spent the last 20 years raising two children with special needs. If you have been struggling with symptoms of depression or anxiety, particularly if they are related to a traumatic experience, I would love the opportunity to work with you to reduce your symptoms and help you experience a present that is not overshadowed by your past.
I love working with women ages 20 to 30-something who are still in academia or just starting out in their careers, but also love working with women of any age. I frequently work with survivors of child sexual abuse, as well as those struggling with issues related to self-worth, but work with other conditions as well.
Congrats on deciding on therapy! Choosing a therapist is a daunting task. I have over 14 years of experience with couples, families and individuals. I believe you are the expert on you. I bring the outside perspective to help highlight challenges, find new ways of interacting with your self and others. I use humor, straight talk and empathy to build trust and find solutions.

I am a fat liberation focused therapist, and a survivor of diet culture, who still struggles with disordered eating. I live and work on Duwamish land, and serve clients all over the tribal land in what is considered Washington State. I live and am part of the 2SQTLBG+ community as a parent and Omni romantic person. I'm a poly and kink friendly therapist, and didn't realize the importance of mentioning this until I had someone say that was the reason they chose me. I believe it's important to be open to learning about relationships outside of my own expectations.
I have the good fortune to work with amazing collaborators in fellow therapists, naturopathic doctors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, PCPs, and nurse practitioners.
I practice from a lens of learning and compassion for the person you are, whether you are here to heal, or here to learn more about yourself.
Hi, I'm Sara. Here's what I want you to know: It's not normal.
The answer to the question you've been asking yourself is, 'It's not normal.' Name-calling is not normal. Silencing yourself to keep the peace is not normal. That on-edge feeling is not normal. Feeling shame at the idea of others finding out how you're treated behind closed doors is not normal. You've lost yourself somewhere along the way, and you didn't even notice it happening. When did 'you' start shrinking? I help high-achieving, high-functioning individuals caught in controlling and abusive relationships see through the gaslighting, reconnect with their intuition, and shift from survival to self-trust.
I am a compassionate, neuro-affirming therapist dedicated to supporting adults as they navigate the intersection of neurodivergence, chronic health challenges, and systemic burnout. My practice is designed to be a low-pressure, accessible space—whether we are working together in individual therapy or within the intimate, collaborative setting of a peer-support cohort.
I integrate evidence-based approaches including ACT, CBT, and DBT with a strengths-based lens to help you move away from shame and toward sustainable self-advocacy. I am fluent in ASL and spoken English, ensuring that communication is clear, comfortable, and tailored to your unique sensory and processing needs.
My goal is not to "fix" you, but to help you build a life that truly fits your nervous system. Together, we will dismantle the exhaustion caused by trying to meet neurotypical expectations and instead create authentic, manageable paths forward that honor your body and your brilliant, busy brain. Whether you are dealing with executive dysfunction, chronic pain, or the stress of major life transitions, you will find a partner here who truly understands the weight of your experience.
I'm not just a therapist. I'm a coffee enthusiast who starts each day with a pour-over and a quiet moment before the world wakes up. I'm an outdoor lover who believes fresh air and moving my body are non-negotiable whether that's a hike, 4x4ing, hitting the resort/ backcountry, a walk with the family, or just standing in the backyard feeling the sun. And I'm a family man. A partner. A parent. Someone who knows what it's like to be pulled in ten directions and still want to show up fully for the people around me.
That life outside the office isn't separate from my work. It's what keeps me refreshed, grounded, and able to come back to this chair with presence and energy. I don't just talk about balance I live it, imperfectly and intentionally.
The work I've done reflects that same groundedness.
I've been shaped by a wide range of experiences: residential treatment settings where the stakes were high and the progress was hard-won. Outpatient practice where life happens between sessions jobs, kids, marriages, breakdowns and breakthroughs. I've sat with clients across the entire lifespan, from geriatric patients navigating legacy and loss to teens just beginning to ask who they are.
That breadth taught me something: suffering doesn't discriminate by age, and neither does healing. Whether you're sixteen or sixty, whether you're processing trauma or just trying to feel less alone, the fundamentals are the same. You want to be seen. You want to be understood. And you want a way forward that actually fits your life.
That's what I'm here for.
Many people come to therapy at a moment when they realize something in their life can’t continue the way it has been. You may feel stuck in painful patterns, overwhelmed by stress or uncertainty, or aware that something deeper needs attention. I offer a thoughtful, grounded space where we can slow down and explore what is happening beneath the surface so that meaningful change becomes possible. My work integrates mindfulness, somatic awareness, Internal Family Systems, and depth-oriented psychology to help clients understand themselves more clearly and move toward a life that feels more authentic and aligned.
I am a licensed therapist with a background in clinical leadership, having served in management and director-level roles overseeing behavioral health programs. I have extensive experience working with individuals with severe mental illness, including those in high-acuity settings, where I’ve been responsible for program development, clinical oversight, and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective, ethical care.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a range of settings including community mental health, managed care, and structured treatment programs, where I supported large patient populations and helped implement systems focused on outcomes, stability, and continuity of care. This experience has shaped my ability to work with complex clinical presentations, crisis situations, and individuals navigating significant life disruption.
In my clinical work, I help clients who are facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and existential concerns—especially those struggling with questions of meaning, identity, and direction. I integrate evidence-based approaches like ACT, CBT, DBT, and attachment-based therapy to provide both practical tools and deeper, insight-oriented work.
My style is direct, collaborative, and grounded. I bring both clinical expertise and real-world leadership experience into the therapy space, helping clients move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
I am a licensed trauma therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant who helps adults heal from PTSD, trauma related symptoms, and trauma rooted anxiety and depression. My style is warm, direct, and highly practical. I pair EMDR with CBT and parts informed work so you get both symptom relief and lasting change. I often work with veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and high achieving professionals. Sessions are available via secure telehealth in NV, WA, NM, and ID.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a PhD in Psychology and have been providing counseling services since 2001. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with individuals who have experienced trauma, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and other significant life challenges. I am passionate about providing compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centered care that helps clients feel supported, empowered, and understood as they navigate healing and personal growth.
I believe in wellness for the whole person — emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. In addition to my work as a therapist, Clinical Director, and professor, I enjoy working out and competing in bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions. Fitness has become an important part of my own wellness journey and helps me stay energized, grounded, and motivated both personally and professionally. I truly value the opportunity to walk alongside others as they work toward healing, resilience, and creating a life worth living.
I work with clients who are thoughtful, introspective, and motivated to better understand themselves but may feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-criticism, or uncertainty about their direction in life. Many people I work with are navigating questions related to identity, relationships, purpose, or major life transitions. My goal is to help clients gain clarity about the patterns influencing their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so they can move forward with greater confidence and intention.
My approach integrates evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These approaches help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop emotional regulation skills, and build practical strategies that improve daily functioning. I also incorporate narrative and reflective techniques that allow clients to explore the personal stories and experiences that shape how they see themselves and the choices they make.
An important part of my work involves helping clients move beyond insight and into meaningful action. Therapy often includes identifying automatic thought patterns, practicing grounding and emotional regulation strategies, and experimenting with new behaviors that align with a client’s values and long-term goals.
I also use structured check-ins and evidence-based tools to track progress over time. By regularly reviewing mood patterns, emotional changes, and skill development, clients are able to see measurable progress while staying focused on what matters most to them.
Clients often describe my approach as collaborative, thoughtful, and practical. Together, we create a space where clients can reflect deeply on their experiences while also developing the tools needed to navigate challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Prior to my clinical career, I spent 22 years as a journalist. It is a foundation that now meaningfully strengthens my work as a trauma and attachment therapist. My journalism background honed my ability to listen deeply, ask precise and attuned questions, analyze complex narratives and hold emotionally charged stories with steadiness and respect. These skills translate directly into high‑fidelity, evidence‑based trauma treatment - enhancing my assessment accuracy, my capacity to identify cognitive and thematic patterns and my ability to support clients in reconstructing their narratives with clarity, agency and coherence.

I believe that healing happens when we look at the whole picture. Mental wellness isn't just about what is happening in our minds, rather it is deeply connected to our environment, our social structures, and our lived experiences. With a professional background rooted in systemic advocacy, housing case management, and youth mentorship, my practice is built on the understanding that real emotional healing requires a foundation of physical, environmental, and psychological safety.
I offer a space that is both deeply compassionate and grounded, where you can feel safe to explore your most authentic self. Hello!
I'm a blind, loving, funny, and sincere person. I'm imperfect and have learned to be (mostly) okay with it. Growing up with a degenerative eye disease left me with a weight on my chest of fighting what my body was doing and trying to convince everyone I was fine, when I wasn't. I think we're all trying to hide ourselves from ourselves and from others and it is complete nonsense. Every part of you is welcome, even the parts you hate about yourself or that others find difficult. Often the parts of us we fight against are there for a very good reason. Once we show those parts love and respect we can start to be okay.
I have been a social worker for over 10 years. I graduated from Boston College and am an LICSW in Massachusetts. I am licensed in other states as well, and I have several years of experience in crisis counseling and helping people manage anxiety and depression. I specialize in short-term counseling by utilizing Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness.
I am a Clinical Social Worker dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate space where individuals, military members, veterans, and their families can explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship stress, and emotional overwhelm. My goal is to help clients gain insight, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their sense of purpose so they can experience greater balance, confidence, and fulfillment in their daily lives. I am licensed in Alaska, Alabama, Mississippi, Montana, and Washington.
I’m an Army Veteran and Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting military personnel and first responders facing challenges such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. My practice is rooted in trauma resolution, and I’m trained in The Cortina Method—a cutting-edge brain optimization technique designed to address trauma, self-limiting beliefs, chronic pain, substance abuse, and unresolved guilt. For decades, our culture has carried a harmful assumption: that trauma breaks people. That if you’ve lived through something overwhelming—combat, assault, childhood adversity, medical emergencies, disasters—you are somehow permanently damaged. But that narrative is not only wrong; it is dangerous. This belief creates shame. It isolates survivors. It teaches people to hide their pain instead of seeking support. And it reduces a person’s entire identity to their hardest moment. I am here to challenge that status quo.
I am a licensed mental health therapist with over 14 years of experience providing individualized therapy to adults and older adults, focusing on anxiety and stress management, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, grief and loss, and life transitions. My approach is genuine and collaborative, helping you explore your experiences, build coping tools, and find meaningful ways to move forward.
Hi, I’m Ashley therapist, animal lover, creative soul, and lifelong daydreamer. I bring a warm and down-to-earth approach to my work, and I believe that connection, curiosity, and authenticity are at the heart of healing.
When I’m not in session, you can usually find me lost in a good book especially fantasy, romantasy, or dark romance (I’m a proud BookTok girly). Some of my favorite reads have come straight from client recommendations. I always love hearing what’s on your bookshelf.
I’m also a big fan of all things crafty. Paper crafting is my go-to especially junk journals and mini albums but I’ve dabbled in wreaths, t-shirts, and tumblers. My creativity also spills into my love of music, which spans from Sleep Token to George Strait to Eminem. I’m always up for discovering new bands or catching a local show.
On slower days, I love wandering through antique stores and thrift shops. Most of my home is decorated with pieces that have a story either found secondhand or passed down through family. I find comfort in giving old things new life.
Animals have always been a grounding force in my world. I’ve been riding horses since I was four, and my heart horse, Kirby, is my trail buddy and snack-sharing best friend (she’s a big fan of applesauce and cupcakes). My two dogs, Oliver and Dottie, are certified therapy dogs who’ve joined me in visits to hospices, hospitals, nursing homes, and children’s reading programs. Together, Kirby, Oliver, and Dottie inspired the name Free to Wander Counseling, a reflection of my belief that healing often begins when we allow ourselves to explore, play, and connect in gentle, open-hearted ways.
Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here just as you are.
I have 10 years of experience helping men and women in the prison system. I'm currently licensed in Wyoming, Washington state, and Michigan and am certified in accelerated resolution therapy (ART) and trained in EMDR. I am LGBTQI+ and kink friendly. I am a certified clinical trauma professional. I like working with clients who may be dealing with trauma, especially PTSD, regardless of the cause because A.R.T. is so powerful. A.R.T. is especially helpful for veterans and first responders.
Please note, I have additional platforms. I will reach out if your time is double booked and reschedule.
I’m a dedicated mental health counselor with five years of experience supporting children, teens, and adults through life’s challenges. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, and chronic pain, and I’m passionate about helping clients feel supported, understood, and empowered in their healing. I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, life transitions, chronic illness, chronic pain, and concentration or focus challenges. I also work with clients who are neurodivergent, whether self-identified or formally diagnosed, and focus on helping clients feel supported and understood.
I am an LPC with a PhD in psychology from Walden University. I have been counseling for almost 20 years. Before that, I was a teacher working with students with emotional concerns and their families. I know that it can be very difficult to take the first step to seek counseling. My intent the moment you “walk through the door” is for you to feel safe, cared for, listened to, and above all, understood. I am not here to judge or condemn. We all have our stuff. Life gets messy. Life can be complicated. I grew up in a Christian family riddled with dysfunction; alcoholism, addiction, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, suicidal ideation, and chronic medical issues. I have also worked in the educational sector with children with behavior issues, ADHD, ODD, OCD, attachment disorder, autism, as well as anxiety and depression. I am a people person. I am empathetic, I listen, I am real, and I can help.
Hi there, and welcome!
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based just outside of Portland, Oregon, and I’m licensed to work with clients in Oregon, Washington, and California. I have been practicing for over 18 years and also work full time as a manager in a large healthcare organization, where I support teams and programs focused on helping people grow and thrive.
As a therapist, I love helping people get clear on what matters most to them- what they want life to look and feel like, and then walking alongside them as they take steps toward those goals. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, where we’re exploring together what helps you feel more grounded, capable, and connected.
A quick note: My practice focuses on working with individuals. If you’re looking for therapy for you and your partner together, I encourage finding a therapist who specializes in couples work to ensure you get the most out of that experience.
Hi, I’m Sarah Sohal, DSW, LICSW, a licensed clinical social worker offering Telehealth therapy for adults and older adults. I specialize in supporting clients through life transitions and helping them process recent stressors that may feel overwhelming or disruptive.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused interventions, and mindfulness to help clients gain clarity, build resilience, and develop practical tools for moving forward. Whether you're navigating a career change, retirement, caregiving responsibilities, loss, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can offer a space to reflect, reset, and grow.
I believe in meeting clients where they are, and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and empowered. If you're looking for thoughtful, goal-oriented support during a challenging time, I’d be honored to work with you.
*Please note- at this time I am only offering individual therapy, and am unable to offer couples or family therapy
I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, safe, and understood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through connection.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, and the emotional weight of caregiving, relationships, and work stress. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward — and together we create space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and build tools that actually fit your life.
Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths, deepen self-compassion, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and authentic. I strive to create a space that is nonjudgmental, affirming, and supportive of your unique story
I have extensive experience in serving adults, adolescents, children, and families by providing mental health counseling, domestic violence prevention, substance use prevention, addiction recovery, career counseling, family support, career coaching and education. I am a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensed in Florida with over 15 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked around the world- in Mexico, in the US, in Germany, in Japan, and in US, and worked in a wide variety of settings, including extensive work in community mental health, substance abuse/addictions, child welfare, and with military and veteran populations. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including couples/relationship issues, anxiety, depression, immigration-related issues, abuse and trauma, divorce and separation, and grief and loss, among other things. I have also worked extensively with the Marine Corps in the area of force preservation and suicide prevention, and have worked with other branches of the service as well, both in the US and OCONUS.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I honestly believe we can work together to find solutions for almost any problem and that we can emerge from challenges stronger, and even more resilient. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, mindfulness training, and other techniques. I also have incorporated many things I have learned in my travels and interactions with psychology in other cultures and countries into my extensive training. I will tailor our interactions and treatment to help you meet your goals and work collaboratively with you every step along the way.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
Welcome! Starting therapy takes a lot of courage. Having the best fit with your therapist is so important. Maybe if I tell you a bit about myself, this would help you in the process. I have been in the field for many years working with adolescents to seniors in a variety of settings. I’ve worked in private psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, prisons and private practice. Most of my clients experience depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues or relationship struggles. I take a very active approach in therapy as opposed to just listening. I try to modify my approach most suited for the client to facilitate change.
I take a warm, down-to-earth approach to therapy and work from a trauma-informed lens. I believe our reactions make sense, even when they feel overwhelming or confusing.
Together, we slow things down and begin to understand what’s underneath your experiences. I bring in an understanding of how the brain and nervous system respond to stress, helping your reactions feel more understandable and connected to what you’ve been through.
I see your reactions as signals worth paying attention to. Rather than only trying to manage them, we take time to understand why they’re showing up and what they might be connected to. From there, we can begin to shift how you respond, building tools that actually support you in a way that feels more grounded and effective.
My name is Janet Muta and I am a Licensed Clinician with over 17 years of experience in mental health, behavioral issues and relationships. I treat individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach is treating the whole person because most of the time our problems are the outcome of more than just one thing and when I get to know you I am able to address different issues that could be contributing to that one specific problem. We all experience some difficulties in our lives sometimes and we all cope differently. What works for one person/couple who are experiencing a similar situation may not work for another and so I personalize your treatment to fit you. Being in therapy is like being on a journey, I make sure you are in the driver’s seat and I become your great working GPS, guiding you to your desired destination.
I also hold a degree in finance which sometimes comes handy when helping those who are stressed due to financial needs.
Among the treatment modalities I use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Parenting, Contingency Management...
