Being a mom can be beautiful, and brutally overwhelming. If you’re carrying invisible weight while trying to hold everything (and everyone) together, you’re not alone. Hi, I'm Olivia Lauzon, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Certified Perinatal Mental Health provider. I specialize in working with mothers navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, and the deep identity shifts that come with parenthood. Whether your trauma is recent or rooted in childhood, becoming a mom has a way of bringing it to the surface. The sleepless nights, the mental load, the pressure to “do it all,” it can stir up old wounds in ways no one prepared you for. I am licensed to see clients in WA, CO, and FL.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and what’s bringing you in right now. You don’t have to share everything at once, we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable. I’ll ask some questions about your current stressors, your history, and what you’d like to feel differently in your life. We’ll also talk about how I work and what goals you have for therapy. Most importantly, the first session is about helping you feel heard, supported, and comfortable. No pressure, no judgment, just a space that’s yours.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the biggest strengths I bring to our sessions is my ability to create a space where moms feel deeply understood. Not judged, rushed, or expected to “hold it together.” I know how heavy the mental load can be, especially when trauma and motherhood intersect, and I approach our work with both compassion and clarity. I’m skilled at helping you connect the dots between past experiences and present triggers, so things finally start to make sense instead of feeling chaotic or confusing. I balance warmth with structure. I prioritize helping you feel supported emotionally, but also have the space to learn practical, realistic tools you can use in the middle of real-life parenting moments. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I’m direct (in a caring way), attuned, and able to gently challenge patterns that no longer serve them. I consider myself a tough love therapist. I'm going to support you through the hard things. Most importantly, I see you as a whole person, not just a mom, and I tailor our work to honor your strengths while helping you reclaim your sense of self.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you’re here, chances are you’re carrying more than you expected to. I work with moms in all phases of motherhood. Whether you are struggling to conceive, feeling panicky during pregnancy, in the postpartum haze, newborn trenches, or are seasoned mom feeling overstimulated, irritable, and like you're not the mom you want to be, I'm here to help. Many of my clients feel dysregulated, triggered, or disconnected on the inside.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I am EMDR trained. I utilize EMDR to assist clients in reprocessing trauma, manage symptoms, and help those really distressing memories feel less intense. I use EMDR to help your nervous system realize that the traumatic event is over, and that you’re safe now.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I use cognitive processing therapy to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs related to trauma. I've had success with client's experiencing a decrease in feelings of guilt, shame, and self-blame. We will work together to create healthier thinking patterns.

Somatic

I use somatic therapy to help you reconnect with your body to calm and regulate your nervous system. Trauma, anxiety, stress, and attachment wounds often inflame your body as well as your brain. I help my clients reconnect with their body, and decrease those physical sensations caused by constant stress. Somatic therapy has been really helpful for the majority of my clients, but especially those who feel their symptoms in a more physical way, and have trouble connecting the body experience with anxious thoughts.

Narrative

I use narrative therapy to help clients of mine who connect strongly with the story of their life, and help them rewrite dominant stories that are not serving them. This is a really collaborative process and helps to reduce shame you may be experiencing in the context of your story.

Interpersonal

I use interpersonal therapy a lot with my clients in that postpartum stage where a lot about your life and relationships are changing simultaneously.
