I am a queer, trans, and polyamorous therapist with over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. My journey began in 1992, and since then, I have worked across the clinical spectrum—from high-acuity crisis assessment in emergency departments to specialized non-profits serving the LGBTQIA+ and HIV communities. My practice is rooted in Feminist Psychotherapy, which means I view mental health through the lens of power distribution and systemic impact. I blend this with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients move toward a value-driven life. I provide a space where you don't have to "translate" your life or identity. As a member of the queer, trans, and poly communities, I offer the ease of lived experience. For my neuro-divergent clients, I offer 30+ years of dedicated, affirming clinical specialization. My goal is to let you stop being "the teacher" so you can finally just be the client.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my priority is to create a "low-masking" environment where you feel safe to be your authentic self. We will spend time discussing what has brought you to therapy and what your ideal life looks like, free from the "shoulds" of society. Because of my background in intake and crisis assessment, I am very skilled at helping you organize your thoughts and identify the core issues without it feeling like an interrogation. You can expect a collaborative, transparent conversation where we begin to map out how we can work together to reclaim your agency and align your daily life with your personal values.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is the unique combination of high-level clinical competence and lived intersectional experience. My years in emergency departments and community mental health mean I am a steady, grounded presence who is not easily overwhelmed by "the heavy stuff" or complex clinical crises. Additionally, I offer "immediate fluency" in trans, queer, and polyamorous cultures. You gain the benefit of a therapist who already speaks your language and understands the nuances of your subculture. For neuro-divergent clients, my strength lies in three decades of advocacy and affirming practice; I understand how to work with your brain's natural wiring rather than attempting to "fix" it. I offer a balance of deep clinical stability and radical, affirming warmth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is an adult or young adult who is navigating life outside of traditional societal norms. I specialize in working with individuals who identify as transgender, queer, neuro-divergent, and/or polyamorous. I am a particularly good fit for those who are tired of "pathologizing" their survival strategies and are ready to look at their lives through a systemic and empowered lens. Whether you are navigating a significant life transition, dealing with the burnout of masking in a neurotypical world, or seeking a therapist who truly understands the dynamics of non-traditional relationships, I am here to partner with you. I welcome clients who are looking for a therapist who is seasoned, stable, and deeply committed to their community.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have been using this model for many years and have had great results with my clients. My main focus in ACT is condensing it into a "Life Map" which helps clients to know there values or what they "accept", related better to their emotions and internal experiences, and make informed choices about how they response and react. All of this is done through the power of noticing.

Feminist

The feminist model is the theoretical foundation of my practice. This model emphasizes that distress and dysfunction originate from an imbalance of power. With that in mind, in this we work to bring awareness to power and work toward equilibrium of it.

Gender-affirming therapy

As a therapist who identifies as transgender, I know firsthand the fear and distrust that many feel in finding a therapist or medical professional who will be affirming in their care. Not only do I know the importance of gender-affirming care, but I know what it feels like to be transgender or gender non-conforming- I know the feeling of dysphoria, internal and external incongruence, imposter syndrome, and the other emotional aspects of being trans. I get it, and I support you wherever you are in your journey. I am glad you are here.

Morgan creates a safe environment for me to share my thoughts and feelings. She challenges my thoughts on emotions and some of my thinking that had been holding me back or making me feel ashamed. Morgan's use of ACT and the feminist model has been very beneficial to me. I made my first Life Map, which I always keep in view and refer to often. This has helped guide some of my choices as well as helped me notice when I'm not quite where I want to be. Very positive experience with Morgan.

Miss Morgan is not only very open and authentic, but they genuinely want to help even if that means guiding someone in another direction. I highly recommend their service, and am deeply thankful to have built such a strong base for my journey into therapy. They are very, very easy to talk to but also solution-oriented and honest.
