Hi, I'm Vicky! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania and have 10 years of experience. I have experience working with clients with a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and more. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I am flexible in my treatment approaches and will tailor my approaches to best fit your needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards positive growth and change. I am here to support and empower you and will help you every step of the way. I look forward to working with you!
In the first session, I will likely begin by asking you some background information so I can get to know you a bit better. I will also ask for more information in regards to the challenges you are facing that caused you to seek out therapy. In addition, I will leave time to welcome any additional questions you might have and will provide some time to discuss the therapy process in further detail (ex. your goals for therapy, what it tends to look like, etc.).
My greatest strengths are being able to work with a variety of individuals and helping them to identify their presenting concerns, brainstorm therapeutic goals, and to help guide them towards success in therapy and in the future when they decide that they no longer need therapy.
Victoria uses an integrative and eclectic approach when working with her clients. She has experience using many different treatment approaches when working with clients and will tailor her approaches to best fit your specific needs.
Some of Victoria's favorite treatment approaches she uses include CBT (to explore sources of distress and to aim in improving overall functioning for clients), DBT (to aide in developing more positive mindsets, positive coping skills, and other techniques to better manage negative thoughts and feelings), and psychodynamic (to explore relationships and dynamics and to help process and work through past negative experiences that may be impacting us to this day). Victoria also uses a compassion-focused and positive psychology approach to assist clients in brainstorming and developing healthier and more positive mindsets (focus on positive self-talk, and self-compassion).
Victoria also uses a client-centered/person-centered approach as she values transparency, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. She believes in making all clients feel welcome, accepted, heard, valued, and like they play an important role in the therapeutic process.
