I offer a space where your pain can soften, your story can unfold gently, and you can be met with warmth and compassion without judgment. I draw from CBT, TF-CBT, MI, mindfulness, and person-centered, holistic practices — not as rigid techniques, but as tools we weave into the moments when you need grounding, clarity, or a way to steady yourself. Over time, your voice gets stronger. Your patterns make more sense. And the parts of you that learned to survive begin to feel safe enough to soften.

Hello! I’m Sandra V. Chávez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Psychological Assistant with the California Board of Psychology. I’m passionate about helping individuals grow both personally and emotionally through client-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapies. As a first-generation Latina, I learned ambition, tenacity, and determination from my parents. My educational journey includes dual bachelor’s degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences and Psychology, as well as a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. I’m currently on the path to becoming a licensed psychologist. Before entering the mental health field, I worked as a nurse and briefly attended medical school in Southern California. That experience deepened my interest in understanding the brain, human development, and the impact of environmental factors on behavior. I specialize in supporting clients through mood disorders, life transitions, and self-empowerment challenges. My strengths lie in helping individuals develop emotional intelligence, identify, and understand their emotions. I believe therapy should be tailored to each person’s unique needs, which is why I use an integrative, eclectic approach that draws from evidence-based methods and holistic practices, including mindfulness and positive psychology. I also enjoy working with individuals who incorporate their faith into their mental health journey. For those open to incorporating their faith as a tool for healing, I create a safe, welcoming space where spirituality and therapy work hand in hand. I can provide sessions in Spanish for those who seek therapy in their native language. Above all, I value building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. My goal is to offer a non-judgmental environment where your thoughts and emotions are respected and where real progress can be made. Together, we’ll explore strategies, assignments, and tools that help you overcome life’s hurdles and achieve lasting personal growth and fulfillment. Let’s begin this journey together!

If you are a client of Kaiser Permanente, it is necessary to obtain a referral from Kaiser before proceeding. Once you have received the referral, Kaiser will provide you with a link to schedule a session with me. I specialize in helping individuals as they navigate grief, anxiety, depression, anger, relationship challenges, and behavioral concerns. I understand that these struggles are not just diagnoses—they are lived experiences that can quietly shape how you see yourself, how you connect with others, and how you move through your day. Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background—keeping you on edge, overthinking, and emotionally worn down. Many people carry it for years without realizing how much it’s impacting their relationships and sense of peace. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep managing it by yourself. Depression is often misunderstood because it doesn’t always look like sadness. Sometimes it feels like exhaustion, numbness, irritability, or simply going through the motions without feeling connected to your life. It can make even the smallest tasks feel heavy. But depression is treatable, and with the right support, it is possible to feel like yourself again. In our work together, I offer a space where you can be seen, heard, and understood—without judgment. My goal is not only to help you cope, but to help you reconnect with yourself, find clarity in what you’re feeling, and build a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and yours.

Life can feel overwhelming when self-doubt, fear of rejection, past hurts, or negative thought patterns keep you feeling stuck. I believe therapy offers an opportunity to better understand yourself, gain insight into these patterns, and create meaningful change. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and an insight-oriented approach, I help clients identify the thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that may be contributing to emotional distress. Together, we explore the challenges that are holding you back while building on the strengths you already possess. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. As you develop greater self-awareness and learn new ways to respond to life's challenges, you can begin making choices that support healing, growth, and emotional well-being. Change is not always easy, but taking the first step is often the most important. If you are ready to gain greater clarity, confidence, and peace, I would be honored to support you on your journey.

An experienced medical social worker, my niche is helping those recovering from chronic physical and emotional pain, mystery symptoms, illness and disease processes (including infertility, maternal loss, peri/menopause, terminal illness, limb loss, and caregiver role stress). My clients often have chronic pain, fatigue, migraines, fibromyalgia, back/neck/hip and other joint pains, pelvic floor pain, EDS, POTS, dysautonomia, CRPS, IBS, PMDD, and other chronic conditions. I especially love supporting those coping with feelings of low self worth, depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, and grief. I am importantly trained in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and EAET -- the most current research backed methods for recovering from chronic pain that I especially love to share. Because they work! I am also trained in EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, and energy psychologies like EFT (aka “tapping”). I study Internal Family Systems Therapy, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, and dream tending.  My authentic approach is also intimately informed by the wisdom traditions that have healed my own life. The mother of a child with a life threatening seizure disorder, I am not unfamiliar with suffering. I often turn to my spiritual faith, Jungian Psychology, nature, and the Wise Woman Herbalism Tradition. I am a life-long meditation, yoga, and reiki practitioner, and always a student of Buddhist Psychology. I find healing in stillness, puppies, humor, art, poetry, and the sacred. I love stories.

Over these years, I have accumulated a passion for working with Clients looking to address challenges around their relationships (couples therapy), as well as neurodivergence and perinatal issues. That being said, I show up as a grounded and collaborative therapist with an experiential approach. Outside of therapy, I am a wife, new(ish) mom, sister/daughter, musician, crafter, ADHD-er, and the occasional "world traveler". I was born and raised in Sacramento to Slavic immigrant parents. I am fluent in Russian and Ukrainian, and also provided therapy services in those languages.

Hi! I am so glad you're here. Are you looking for a therapist you can connect with and will help you grow? I am passionate about helping teens and adults heal from traumatic experiences and overcome mental health challenges. It takes a lot of bravery to ask for help and examine your patterns of behavior. It is a honor to walk alongside clients and help them create meaningful change and healing. I am trained in the cutting edge treatment method of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). EMDR is primarily used to help treat and heal trauma, anxiety, phobias, and distressing life events. Many of the clients report symptom relief through EMDR that they were previously unable to achieve in talk therapy alone, I would love to talk more and see if EMDR is a good fit for you!

I care deeply about creating a therapeutic relationship where people feel respected, understood, and able to approach difficult parts of their lives with curiosity rather than judgment. Outside of therapy, I enjoy paddle boarding in the summer, long conversations with loved ones over a leisurely meal, and just about anything related to musical theater. You’re the one everyone counts on. Who’s holding you up? You show up for your job, your family, your aging parent, your friends, and you make it look easy. Inside, you’re exhausted, stretched thin, or not quite feeling like yourself. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who helps overwhelmed, high-functioning adults and caregivers understand how stress is affecting their mind and body, so they can feel steadier, more grounded, and more like themselves again. Here’s what makes my approach different. Stress doesn’t only live in your thoughts. It shows up in your sleep, your shoulders, your patience, and your energy. As a certified yoga teacher currently training to become a yoga therapist, I combine practical talk therapy tools with mindfulness and body-based practices, so you leave sessions with something you can use that same night. I grew up between two cultures and worked overseas as an NGO worker, and I’m fluent in English, Korean, and Japanese. If you carry expectations from more than one world, such as the dutiful child, the reliable one, or the one who “should” be able to handle it, I understand the in-between, and you won’t have to translate your story for me. My role isn’t to tell you how to live. I ask thoughtful questions, offer fresh perspectives, and help you reconnect with strengths you already have, even when stress, grief, or change make them hard to reach. You don’t have to wait until you hit a wall. Reach out today and let’s start where you are.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. I strive to bring a calm, non-anxious presence into the room while keeping therapy warm, conversational, and human. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety and panic disorders, OCD, ADHD, relationship concerns, and sexual dysfunctions. I also enjoy working with healthcare professionals and people who tend to overthink or feel like they don’t quite “fit in.” My approach is person-centered at its core, meaning I believe therapy works best when clients feel accepted and supported as they are. I then integrate different therapeutic approaches depending on each client’s needs and goals. I believe effective therapy is both human and clinical — connection matters, but so do practical tools and evidence-based strategies. In working with OCD and anxiety, I often remind clients that growth takes practice and consistency. Healing is possible, but it requires learning how to tolerate discomfort rather than avoid it. For couples, I view the relationship as a team. Therapy can help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and better understand one another. Faith-based or Christian counseling is also available for clients who would like to incorporate spirituality into therapy.

I provide a warm and welcoming space, free of judgements and bias. I am here to meet you right where you are because some seasons of life can be more challenging that others. I firmly believe that having a safe space to explore your thoughts openly can bring so much healing and growth. I will both, work with you and challenge you when needed. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I have built my career and experience on working to support children, teens, couples and adults. I have shifted gears to working primarily with adults in an individual setting to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and traumas while supporting life transitions. My clientele is made up of a mix of individuals facing challenges in life with adjusting to changes in life stages, experiencing overwhelming emotions and needing some help in building coping and balance with life's stressors, and those wanting to improve communication skills to achieve their relationship goals. If you are experiencing a life transition of any kind (career change, divorce, growing a family, struggling with grief and loss, being part of the sandwich generation -caring for aging parents while navigating into learning boundaries of parenting adult children, or a boomerang kid- -moved out and enjoyed independence from home, but life circumstances brought you back to your childhood home) I am here to help work through those challenges. If you've experienced trauma of sexual assault or suppressed sexual abuse for so long and see that it is now showing up and impacting your relationships and responses to the world around you- feeling fearful, difficulty trusting others, people pleasing, or feel like you have to wear a mask to get through daily life and keep things hidden, we will work at your pace.

Therapy offers more than a space to talk; it provides the guidance, expertise, and supportive therapeutic relationship needed to navigate difficult experiences, understand complex emotions, and create meaningful, lasting change. I enjoy getting to know each person as a unique individual and tailoring my approach to their needs. With children and adolescents, I focus on fostering self-esteem, strengthening emotional regulation, and helping them understand and express their feelings in healthier ways which improves behavior and relationships. With adults, I help uncover underlying patterns and experiences that may contribute to relationship difficulties and emotional distress. Across all ages, I work to help clients develop greater self-understanding, build on their inherent capacity for growth, and experience a more fulfilling life.

This season of life has been WAY more than you imagined. You juggle everyone else's needs, and you are realizing you need space for yourself. Friend, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Jess. I specialize in supporting high-capacity women and their children as they navigate betrayal, burnout, and major life changes. I know what it’s like when the late-night fights with your spouse leave you drained, when work deadlines and school carpool lines blur together, and the days feel like they’re just melting into one another. Maybe you’ve forgotten what it feels like to laugh, to feel light, or to truly enjoy a moment for yourself. You are in the right place. Here is where you get to pause, process, and reclaim clarity, balance, and joy—even in the midst of life’s chaos. I combine evidence-based techniques—like mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic strategies—with a compassionate, encouraging approach tailored to your needs. Whether your goals are to feel more confident, create healthier relationships, speak up, or find yourself again, I’d love to support you. My approach is warm, positive, and focused on practical, small steps—one day at a time—so you can cultivate resilience, clarity, and your healthiest, most authentic life. My focus is always on supporting you where you are, meeting your needs with compassion, and helping you move toward a life that feels aligned, meaningful, and manageable.

Hi, I’m Shant Bardakjian, an LMFT based in Pasadena, CA, providing telehealth to adults across California. If you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or the chaos of major life transitions, you don't have to carry this alone. I specialize in transforming internal chaos into lasting relief. I view your challenges through a compassionate, person-centered lens, tailoring my tools to what you need in the moment: • CBT & Mindfulness: To quiet anxiety and depression and ground your mind. • Narrative Therapy: To creatively untangle past trauma and rewrite your future. • Solution-Focused Therapy: To build practical, actionable strategies for immediate relief. Finding the right therapist is about connection. With over 12 years of clinical experience and navigating my own life trials, I bring a deeply honed intuition and a calm, kind, and highly approachable presence to every session. I don't just sit back and nod. I look past the surface to track unspoken patterns. I am gentle and supportive, but also direct when it serves your growth—kindly holding up a mirror to challenge old habits. This balance ensures our sessions are safe, honest, and effective, translating insights into tangible improvements in your everyday life and relationships. Our first session is simply a low-pressure, comfortable chat. It feels a bit different from future sessions because it's a gentle, zero-pressure space to learn your history and see the big picture. We move entirely at your pace, and you only share what you are ready to tell me. My goal is for you to leave feeling deeply heard, a little lighter, and confident that you have a trusted guide.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
