Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session together will include assessing if we’re a good fit. This is your time, and so I want to make sure we’re using it wisely! If you feel comfortable with me, we can discuss your background, what brings you to therapy, hopes, goals, hesitations, etc. I have experience with several modalities, so we can discuss which sounds most appealing to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths include meeting you were you are at and taking the process at a pace which helps you feel comfortable yet challenged. I strive to hold a space and improve my cultural competency, rapport building, and offering you new insights and perspectives. I also love to include humor and common interests in our sessions, allowing for deeper connection.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

There is so much out of our control that affects us, but we can still find a way to create a meaningful, fulfilling life. Let’s work together and start taking ownership of what we CAN control and shifting perspective on what we CANNOT control. This will allow us to find more balance and to start putting our time and energy row where it may serve us most, decreasing unnecessary distress in the process.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Just when things start to feel okay, another stressor hits you. You can’t seem to get a break. With ACT, we can work towards accepting these stressors with less distress. We can examine our values, and check in that our behaviors are aligned with our values. This can lead to more confidence, congruency, and so reaction in our lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The way we think, is the way we feel, which then is the way we act. Let’s address our thinking to put us on a trajectory towards more adaptive and fulfilling behaviors. We don’t have to achieve “happy thoughts” all the time, there is immense power in neutrality. Through addressing our distorted, inaccurate, and unhelpful thinking patterns, we can achieve more fulfilling lives and feel more content in the process.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sometimes there is a big stressor that we can’t seem to shake. We can work through practical steps to improve our relation to this stressor, and get you feeling back to yourself so you can keep living.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

Two things can be true at the same time. We can be overwhelmed AND be working through all our stressors. DBT will help us achieve more balanced perspective taking, improve emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and engage in mindfulness to create a life that feels more content and livable.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is such a power gift we can offer ourselves. Together we can learn about what mindfulness actually is, and in what areas of our lives we can apply it the most beneficially.
