Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in California. I received my Masters degree in Mental Health from Christian Theological Seminary in Butler University at Indiana. My Masters program is a Four year special degree program which is integrated with Psychology, Philosophy and Theology, that provides holistic approach to Psychotherapy. I work with adults who struggle with Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Grief, Anger, Trauma events such as military combat, physical and sexual abuse, neglect and Racism.
After a brief introductions, I will have a comprehensive session to gather information and history of the client, help client to express the presenting concerns, mental health history, to set goals in therapy, build rapport with client and get the social and developmental history.
I am genuinely empathetic, good listener, provides non-judgmental safe environment, collaborative style, culturally sensitive and work excellently with multicultural clients because I have lived in 6 different cultures, proven, tested and tried strategies to help with the presenting problem, empower the client to harness their strengths and resources.
It is very helpful to use with clients who have anxiety and depression and help them in cognitive restructuring thoughts and behaviors, and teach them relaxation techniques like guided imagery, and use journaling their negative thoughts to help them change to positive thoughts.
This modality is helpful to use with my clients to cope with the emotions that arise after a loss such as death of a loved one, job loss, relationship loss or any life changes. I got certified in Grief counseling and have a structural format of how to work with grief.
The specific trauma I have worked on is rape, PTSD, accidents, people affected by war, Intergenerational trauma, any stressful event that reoccurs such as neglect of profound nature, experiencing physical and sexual abuse, military combat are some of the trauma I have worked with. I have used this treatment method by helping client to shift their brain focus from the past event to the present, helping them to regain control over their life, helping them to face the reality of the past traumatic event and boost their daily functioning.
I have used faith based therapy with clients who wants traditional therapy with religious principles and practices, it helped the client to address their mental health issues while considering their faith as part of the healing process, incorporated meditations and discussions on how faith impacts life and decision making.
