(she/her)
Greetings! I'm Cathyanna, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 13+ years of experience. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Paine College and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I currently hold active licenses in Georgia and Florida. I offer guidance toward emotional wellness, mental stability, and personal growth in a non-judgmental and supportive environment; allowing my clients to be vulnerable and openly explore their emotions purely and healthily. Let's work together to overcome life's challenges and heal peacefully, leading you toward a balanced and fulfilling life. You deserve to live your happiest and best life, and I am here to support you on this transformative journey.
In our initial therapy session, we will have the opportunity to build a connection and lay the foundation for your personalized treatment plan. During this intake assessment, I will gather information about your reasons for seeking therapy, your current symptoms or concerns, and relevant background details about your personal history, relationships, and experiences. You are welcome to ask any questions you have about the therapy process – I am here to support you every step of the way.
In my work as a therapist, my greatest strength lies in my ability to empathize with each individual I work with. I am dedicated to understanding your emotions and experiences and creating a supportive and compassionate space for you to explore your innermost thoughts and feelings. I approach each person with patience, recognizing that healing and growth take time and that each individual progresses at their own pace. I am committed to providing a nonjudgmental environment where everyone feels valued and safe to express themselves without fear of criticism or rejection. I believe in the power of vulnerability and encourage my clients to embrace their authentic selves, sharing their true thoughts and feelings openly. I see openness and honesty about our struggles as essential for personal growth and healing. Above all, I aim to empower you to recognize and embrace your strengths and capabilities. Through collaborative work, I help you build upon your existing strengths and develop new skills to overcome challenges and achieve your goals. By instilling belief in yourself and your potential, I assist you in creating positive change in your life.
I am best suited to work with clients who are ready, motivated, and dedicated to overcoming their challenges. Therapy is a collaborative effort, and your active participation is crucial for success. This includes completing homework assignments, applying strategies discussed in sessions, and being open and honest in our discussions. I provide a judgment-free space for you to explore and grow, but I will also hold you accountable to help you stay on track toward achieving your goals. If you are prepared to take on your role in our therapeutic partnership, I encourage you to schedule a session with me.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Contrary to common belief, therapy doesn’t always need to last for years. I work collaboratively with patients, encouraging them to focus on identifying and building solutions rather than overanalyzing problems. In our sessions, we prioritize setting goals and implementing time-limited therapy to assist clients in recognizing their strengths, resources, and objectives to facilitate positive changes in their lives.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Having worked as a behavioral therapist at a well-known diabetes institute, dialysis clinic and weight management program for many years, I have extensive experience in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist patients with chronic illnesses, depression, and anxiety. Through CBT, I help clients make lifestyle changes that are essential for enhancing both their mental and physical health. By focusing on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, I support clients in recognizing and challenging irrational beliefs, ultimately replacing them with more positive and adaptive thoughts. This approach not only improves emotional well-being but also contributes to better physical health outcomes.
Strength-Based
With 14 years of experience as a social worker, I have honed my ability to recognize strengths in clients, even when they struggle to see them themselves. During our sessions, I collaborate with clients to uncover and embrace their strengths, rather than solely concentrating on weaknesses, shortcomings, and challenges. This method can enhance self-esteem, boost problem-solving abilities, and elevate motivation and self-assurance. I am dedicated to supporting you in utilizing your strengths to navigate life's obstacles and attain mental health, wellness, and resilience.
