I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have worked as a Therapist for 18 years. I have had great opportunities to get great experience with the mental health field. I spend time learning about my client's and finding the best treatment plan that provides the best outcomes. I look forward to working with each client and meeting them where they are. I keep an open mind with each client and each situation that my clients may be experiencing.
The first session I like to get a background of the client's environment now. I would like to know what brings the client to therapy. I also would like to talk about their conditioning as a child and relationships with family. I want the client to start to think about goals for therapy and also provide them with some tools to start with.
I feel I am a good listener. I also meet client's where they are and keep an open mind. I look for what is reasonable and help the client set good boundaries. I work with client's on expectations and perceptions as well as good communication skills.
I feel that the best outcomes happen when the client comes to therapy and we can work on preparing their treatment plan. Each session we work on goals and learn what is working and what we need to continue to build on.
