Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas. I received a Master's in Social Work in 2017 from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. I have been practicing social work for 7 years and have been a therapist for over 4 years. I help adults, individuals and adolescents cope with life's stressors and current challenges. I guide them in learning how to navigate the world by learning coping skills to face their challenges. I assist them in learning that self-care and self-healing honors who they are now, and aids them in taking back their power.
I believe in building rapport with clients to establish connection and trust. During the first session, I focus on getting to know you, what you are going through and how I can help you reach your goals for therapy.
I have an ability to put clients at ease, so that we can work together to help them reach their therapeutic goals and have measurable, successful outcomes. I like to think "outside the box" and use creative methods along with evidence-based modalities to help clients heal and fully enjoy life.
I love working with couples, LGBTQ clients and clients on the autism spectrum. These clients often feel stuck in life, marginalized and ostracized from society. I offer a safe space for them to learn, grow and be able to accept their uniqueness, strengths and positive qualities.
I focus on helping clients understand the positive and negative connection between thoughts, feelings and actions. Using CBT, I teach clients coping skills and how to identify triggers to reduce anxiety, panic and distress.
Using evidence-based treatment, I guide clients through a 12-week program of 5 modules, that address safety, trust, power/control, esteem and intimacy, to help clients understand and process how their traumatic event(s) has shifted their belief system and view of the world.
My focus is helping clients strengthen their relationship foundation and relationship world. I teach relationship techniques connected to the Gottman method to improve a couples' connection, communication and engagement.
Using core principles of Gottman's "Sound Relationship House", I help couples improve all aspects of their relationship, by teaching them how to fight better, improve communication and strengthen commitment.
I guide clients using verbal and visual art to process past trauma and reduce symptoms of anxiety, panic, depression and PTSD.
