I have over 15 years of experience working with children and families. I specialize working with trauma, depression, and PTSD. I also have experience working with clients who are in crisis, providing immediate support and intervention in times of acute emotional distress. Often times current situations are a symptom of underlying past trauma that permeate our daily lives. We will work together to uncover and confront these issues. In this approach, the development of a preferred solution is more important than clarifying and directly addressing the problem.
Working together you will feel welcome and discover that you are in a safe place. I am non-judgmental and care a great deal about the people I work with. We will work together goals that we develop together, concentrating on identifying and changing old patterns and improving communication.
I adhere to a Solution-Focused approach, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Reality Therapy to counseling. This means that rather than focusing solely on the individual’s presenting concern. I explore client strengths and counter-productive cycles of thought and behavior to help the client gain insight into their situation and solutions.
