Greetings! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over five years of counseling experience and more than a decade of experience in various roles within the field of mental health. If you are an individual struggling with any of a number of symptoms related to depressive, anxious, mood or personality disorders and/or struggling to effectively maintain balance in your life and interpersonal relationships, I believe I can be of some relief. Knowing that folks may be scared or hesitant to pursue therapy, I do my best to provide a calm, safe and inviting environment, keeping a pace catered to your comfort as you work toward healing and developing a stronger relationship with yourself. I am an inquisitive mind and will ask many questions so that I may have further understanding of and greater compassion for your struggles as we strengthen our therapeutic alliance and use your strengths to pursue a sense of stability.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The initial session is intended to introduce myself to you and answer any inquiries of your own as I build my understanding of how your symptoms manifest in your daily life and relationships. Together, we develop a goal for your treatment while identifying the avenues we may take to address the issue(s) in a short-term or long-term sense. Not all questions are necessarily intended to diagnose but to also have a greater understanding of you as an individual and how such things can be worked into your treatment.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I most often utilize CBT and DBT methods in sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe my greatest strength comes from a personable nature that works effectively in a professional setting. While I do like to take opportunities for humor and "letting my hair down" (that's a joke... I'm bald), I do my best to develop a dynamic of equality over provider/patient. My interest in clients as individuals helps me approach the description and application of coping skills to more effectively suit them. While it is my intention to provide guidance and the most effective tools for self-improvement, I acknowledge the autonomy of the individual and continue to work with you through each stride and stumble.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have worked with a wealth of clients struggling with a multitude of symptoms, including various mood and personality traits due to chemical imbalance and/or external circumstances, difficulties with focus and time and stress management and interpersonal struggles, be they romantic or platonic. Typical clientele is between ages 20 and 40, though not by design. I prefer client's enter the therapeutic relationship knowing that ultimately, it is they that will do the leg work in the therapeutic process.
