Life can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to face it alone. Hi, I’m Michelle Prado, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity, strength, and confidence. Whether you’re dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, anger management, divorce, or parenting difficulties, I’m here to provide the tools and support you need. Through our sessions, you’ll gain practical strategies to overcome obstacles and build a life that feels aligned with your values. I believe in creating a therapeutic space where you feel respected, heard, and understood, no matter what you’re going through. In my sessions I use a combination of therapeutic modalities (DBT, CBT, ACT, etc) and most importantly, work with you to reach the goals that you may have! I’m deeply committed to this work because I’ve seen firsthand the incredible resilience of the human spirit. With the right support, even life’s toughest moments can lead to growth and transformation. Together, we’ll navigate the ups and downs, helping you emerge stronger and more grounded on the other side. Let’s work together to turn life’s challenges into opportunities for growth. Call or email me today to get started! I look forward to hearing from you!
In a first therapy session with me, a client can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where they can share what brings them to therapy. Here’s a general outline of what the session might look like: 1. Introductions & Rapport Building • I will introduce myself and my approach to therapy. • The client can share a little about themselves at their own pace. 2. Discussing Confidentiality & Expectations • I’ll explain confidentiality, including its limits (e.g., harm to self or others). • I might discuss my role, what therapy involves, and how sessions typically work. 3. Understanding the Client’s Concerns • The client can talk about why they sought therapy, any specific struggles, and what they hope to gain. • If they’re unsure, I may ask open-ended questions to help them explore their thoughts and feelings. 4. Gathering Background Information • I might ask about their mental health history, relationships, work, lifestyle, and any past experiences with therapy. 5. Setting Initial Goals • We will work together to define some initial therapy goals or areas of focus. 6. Addressing Immediate Needs • If they’re in distress, I may provide coping strategies or reassurance. 7. Next Steps & Questions • We will outline what future sessions might look like and answer any questions.
